I'm going to give you three facts, and noone on here can argue with them.

1) Merchandising accounts for only 7% of United's turnover - most of that in Ireland and Britain - losing the Asian market will not greatly affect profability.

2) I have seen Beckham play many more times than anyone else on here.  In the last two years I have probably seen him play 35 times live.  In no way shape or form is he an essential player on the pitch, and United is clearly third in his priorities after England and self publicity.  (Although Bez saw his last ever United game!)

3) Our 6 best results last season, the 6 matches that won us the title were: Newcastle w- 5 - 3 home, w - 6 - 2 away; Liverpool w - 4 - 0 home, w - 2 - 1 away; Arsenal w - 2 - 0 home, drew 2 - 2 away.  For how many of these matches was Beckham right winger for?  NONE.  Solskjaer was the right winger in every one of those matches.  Put simply, Beckham is far from essential on the pitch.

As for Beckham trying to win the sympathy vote, he was asking our reserve keeper Ricardo what Madrid was like 3 months ago!  Beckham engineered the move.

Yeah the only place where he is irreplaceable is free kicks.  He is the greatest free kick taker ever in the history of football and we cannot replace that.  Saying that how many goals come from direct free kicks in a season?  5?

Good luck too him, he's a model pro and wont have to live in fear of being put in Ashley Cole's pocket twice a season in Spain, he's property of Silvinho's pockets now, adios son.
