Dont Want no More 2Pac Releases
« on: June 23, 2003, 01:20:19 AM »
I don't want any more. Keep it queit for a few years. Look at Until The End of Time which received 3x platinum and had a lot more exitement because fans didnt get a double album since 97. 98 saw greatest hits, 99 saw still I rise, 00 saw a poetry cd. It was highley anticipated even though they handled the album terribly.

So where's the track Still Ballin? Should be renamed with the big ass question mark after it. Whats the point of throwing out a double albums worth of material if it isn't going to be promoted to the fullest to gurentee multi-platinum from a man who should be commercially recognised alone for anything with his name on it. Realistically, we don't hear a lot. Come on - two videos for a double album? Sounds a waste of material to me.

My opinion - To not bother with this next double album (which they aren't) and to take time out to gather money to fully promote an album. Money for the videos etc.

Animation, Look-a-likes, Guest Actors/rappers, unusual storys, Themed (ie. Oceon or Streets), among many others and I am not talking about quality of videos, Im talking about Quantity,

Why Not release Late Night Fatals out, Quik will appear easily. Unusually catchy sound but will be unique at the same time so will be a hit in the charts. A video idea is os easily described from it's title! Cars riding down big lit up fancy busy strips in La or Vegas!

Late Night with quik/amg would be tight.

* Overseer bumps it now :)

I wish they'd realise people want the original versions.. i guess they'll milk it this way for what then can.. and -then- put out originals.

seems pac releases are getting progressively more and more messed with :/

Afeni says that they don't keep the OG production on the tracks because it would cost alot to pay for the samples ::). This is ridiculous, all of the money that she has made off of these 2pac releases over the years & she can't pay for a sample? Anyway, atleast if she's gonna have a song remixed then she should get a producer to do a beat that fits 2pac's vocals. Alot of the beats on Better Dayz just didn't sound good with 2pac's vocals IMO. And why doesn't she get some West Coast artists to feature on some of the songs. I mean damn, Nas? Trick Daddy?

To tell you the truth, I would rather Afeni just stop releasing 2pac albums because they sound like shit. Pac's lyrics are fine it's just the production.

Yeah, they better release the original stuff if they're gonna release more Pac stuff. I didn't bother with Better Dayz, knowing who the producers and guests were.

Of course they don't release OG versions. Everybody can download those songs from Kazaa. They are already bootlegged so much, it has no use to release them.

the problem is that Afeni picks the wrong singles.  for example, UTEOT would have blown up had they dropped a video for "Thug n u thug n me".  K-Ci and Jojo could have been in the video, gone on tv to promote it.  shit, if they really needed help with the editing, they could have used the version that was on L-Ci and Jojo's album "X".  Instead they went with "Letter 2 my unborn" which was basically the same video as "Until the end of time" and "Changes".  As for "Better Days", released the title track and put Ron Isley in the video with actors and actresses acting out the lyrics.  I give them credit for the "Thugz Mansion" video because it was something different for Pac.

Like it was said before, the originals use a lot of samples that cost money, so they will milk this for all they can--instead of paying for samples, they'll get some sub-par production and save $$$.

It'd be tight as hell though if they released EVERYTHING in the vault as ORIGINALS.
