Swap meets are usually aimed towards minorities, you never see whites in them because they don't have as much that appeals to them.
Well some of y'all got it mixed up a lil bit. L.A. has Swap meets and flea markets. Main difference to me is that flea markets are usually outside, and may have different things every week. Swap meets are usually temporary and have like eisles and business that have sometimes been there for 10 years and longer. Stores come and go inside of swap meets but they usually sell the same types of things. It seems like flea markets also have food, which swap meets never do. Swap meets usually always have Pro Club t-shirts, a large selection of hats and shoes and anything else that L.A. (gang) culture consists of. There's no 'rules' on what to call it.
flee markets are always temporary and usually contain a bigger variety of things where as swapmeets are not temporary and usually have a more selective product line such as cellphones, clothes, shoes, chains, etc.
