I know. What I'm saying is try to think what most people would recognize as a classic and what you think are the best albums of all time, find an album that somewhat fits both those critrea and poof! You have your answer. As far as sales, the only reason those matter is because in order for it to be a classic many hip hop heads have to have heard it but even that is unsatisfactory sometimes. Just look at Illmatic. I'm sure it went platinum by now, but when it came out it was a commerical faliure. Today it is recognized as one of the classic albums of all time. I guess in the end a classic album IMO is one that has excellent quality (of course) and really effected the rap game in some way (made rap history).
Maybe I should of started a thread entitled "What makes a classic album" then posted this thread.

So far the only possible one I see that are posted are Outkast. Ice Cube had 2, Scareface had one and Jay-Z had 2 IMHO. I'm still undecided on a tribe called quest because I am not as fimiliar with there albums as others, so I can't make an opinion worth postiong.

Who said only Dr. Dre can have a classic record? Haven't you been reading? In this thread alone people stated that Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac, Outkast, Ice Cube, E-40, Raekwon, Ghostface, DJ Quik, Spice 1, Too $hort and Rakim have had least one classic album (which is all true, alough I'd have to disagree on about half of them having more then one).
