NWA-who really deserves the credit??
« on: December 29, 2001, 12:27:09 AM »
ok...this iz the one that i really need some opinions on...

eazy started ruthless...nwa started on ruthless...
ice cube wrote most of the best rhymes...but then when he left rhymes where still as ill

dre is a dope producer, dope beatmaker and the rest of it...but then back in the day so was yella...

MC Ren, Eazy, & Cube where the main rappaz before cube left...

how do ya'll feel about snoop joining the klan?

who do ya'll think really deserves the credit for nwa'z career? or do you think it was a whole group effort? but then they are all still dope on their solo carrers

(and there aint enough muvaphukaz puttin' this so ima put it here...R.I.P. Eazy E)

Dre always seems/ed to be the one creditted for production , from whats been said (in songs at least) yella mainly did cuts/scratches. looking over it seems like yella did more than i thought, most of the electro/older style stuff seems to be from him with dre doin more with layering samples.

-Straight outta compton-

8 Ball (Remix)
(eazy) "Dre makes the beats so god damn funky
"

Something 2 Dance 2

"Yo Dre why don't you pump it up some
I pumped it up so now what's up
Yo Yella boy, add a little cut"

Dopeman
""Yo Dre!!  Kick in the bass!!"

Express Yourself
(cube)
"Man, you been doin all this dope producin
You ain't had a chance to show 'em what time it is"

(dre)
"Even if Yella, makes it a-capella"

"When I start expressin myself, Yella, slam it"

Comptons In the house

"Hey yo yella boy, kick me that funky-ass beat"

"Yella boy on the drum gettin' dumb
Programmin' - a beat that's hittin'"

Parental Discretion Iz Advised
"Yella's on the drum roll, rockin the beat"

Something Like That
"Hey, yo Yella Boy, why don't you kick me one of them funky beats ?"

for the original credit, i believe without dre nwa wouldnt have reached the height they did. but without everyone else (eazy'z backiing/cubes rhymes etc) he couldnt (at that time) have done it alone.

on the snoop thing...

people were saying NWA were dead an buried once cube left, and had dropped Americaz Most.. NWA came back saying with the 100 miles EP, and answered all their critics on 'Real Niggaz'. NWA *were* considered commercial by the time 'efil4zaggin' came out.. so nothing's changed in that department.

chin check was supposed to be the new wake up call, personally i liked it (and was staff @ NWA2K at the time) but some people didnt... hello didnt get such a response, and there was no snoop.. hrmm..

Everyone deserves credit, for the most part...

Eazy...Got shit going on the business side of things, started Ruthless.

Dre...Had the creative influence and talent to a tight producer.

Cube...Wrote rhymes and was the star rapper of N.W.A. - also played a big role.

Ren and Dre later stepped up when Cube left.  Yella basically just layed his cuts down, and ran the live show.

...Were, Arabian Prince left the group before "Straight Outta Compton" dropped.  He's on the cover of the album actually, lol, that's ghetto.

D.O.C. was like the sixth man.

Eazy-E deserves most of the credit for N.W.A.
Then Dr. Dre deserves alot of credit

Cube and Yella deserve a little credit but not as much as the two above.
MC Ren was a dope rapper but I don't think he did much to make the group and it could of made it without him.

as for the other "members" (D.O.C, Arbrian Prince), I don't consider them as ever being part of actual core group.

As for Snoop joining I think he was dope in Chin Check and if they ever do the new cd, he should be in some songs but not too many.

P.S.
Eazy-E R.I.P.
Cube should do a new version of "A Bitch Iz A Bitch"
