I can think of many, but one dat sticks up in my mind is "Express Yourself"..........I mean tha title of this song tells u one of tha main meanings of hip hop which is "expression"...........

not as a whole no, but a time in that genre

no one song embodies or represents hip hop as a whole

"East Coast Killa/ West Coast Killa"  that song was very important at the time it came out.  Dre was one of the first West Coast artists to open up to the East Coast.  Others followed.

Also "Hit em Up" by 2pac could be one of the most significant hip-hop tracks ever.  Had that song never of been recorded, Biggie and 2pac may very well both still be with us.  That song took the East Coast/ West Coast beef to the next level.

Rapper's Delight

Hehehe, thats got me thinking. Ya know that gay (he is actually gay) rapper Cashun? Well he's recorded a song called funnily enough, "Gay Rappers Delight" where he shouts out to Snoop, Em & a whole bunch of other rappers, LOL. He's gonnna get his ass whooped!

Anyways, back to the topic, I'd defo place "Nuttin But A 'G' Thang" up there, that basically opened up the eyes of the world to full on, g'd up WestCoast hip-hop. Classic joint.

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

Its just like I said, there was HH before the Chronic and there is one after it.

If not for the Chronic, we'd still be listening to Yesh yesh yall, ya dont stop, keep on, to the break of dawn....... Two years ago, a friend of mine..... and all that wack ol school shit that pisses me off ev'rytime I hear it. Gangsta rap was the shock therapy for HH, and it cured HH from lots of corny shit.

no it wouldn't
u jus lookin at it for the westside's point of view. remember at the same time as chronic came out, peeps like The Wu, and many other's were comin out, don't jus think about the west
