Young Rook: Radio & Street Single Premieres! - April 3, 2008 By : Eddie

After we introduced you to Young Rook last year, the unsigned hype has been grinding hard in the studio working on his latest project "Label Money". The forthcoming album, presented by Dubcnn, is a full-length set of all original music.

Half of the record will will be harder, street music for the hip-hop heads, while the second half will focus on Rook's smoother side, with records aimed at the ladies.

"Label Money" is set to drop in late April/early May, exclusively on Dubcnn for free download and with no DJ tags. But we're setting things off today by giving you the WORLD PREMIERES of Young Rook's radio and street singles from the album.

The radio single, "Out Of Control", is definitely one for the females, but guys can still vibe with the funky melodies courtesy of C Ballin.

This song is going to be a serious problem on the radio, SO DJs, feel free to grab it here and add it to your rotation immediately.

Young Rook - Out Of Control [Radio Version] [Produced by C Ballin]

The street single is titled "C U At The Top". Rook rhymes about the struggles of an artist trying to get signed, while J. Black kills the hook. Check it out below.

Get ready for "Out Of Control" to hit the radio real soon, and remember where you heard it first! You can get the ball rolling now by requesting the record on Power 106. Text "Young Rook - Out Of Control" to 69106.

Make sure to add Young Rook & C Ballin as your friends on Myspace, and look out for more leaks from "Dubcnn Presents: Label Money" real soon.

Drop feedback!

  • If it don't make dollaz, it don't make sense.
Props for the songs Eddie. I hope people don't sleep on this dude, Tone P or C Ballin. Those cats are so talented, it's crazy. But back to the topic: the "Out of Control" song is cool, but the song with J.Black "C U At The Top" is dope as hell. I'm feelin' that one the most. 8)

Good to see another update on Young Rook. I was looking forward to hearing more of him after checking out that "The Customers" song and his mixtape with Tone-P. I like his style: flow, voice, lyrics, ...

Out Of Control: dope song. I can see this doing pretty good on the radio. Nice lyrics, catchy chorus & dope production (you can tell it's somewhat West Coast flavoured).

C U At The Top: good song!

I like that idea of the street album having two different vibes: street & ladies music. Some people will be quick to yell 'sell-out', but I don't care. Dude makes the music HE wants to make, not what record execs want him to make. At least that's the impression I get...

Can't wait to hear that album 8)
