Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock & Jamie Foxx In New Comedy

Film director Brett Ratner revealed to New York radio station Hot 97 earlier today (August 1) that he is currently working on a new project with an all-star cast including Eddie Murphy, Chris Tucker, Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx and Dave Chappelle.

According to Ratner, Murphy called him to direct the untitled flick, which will star the aforementioned actors as employees of the Trump Tower, conspiring to rip off the building's residents.

Ratner also divulged that Denzel Washington might be added to the cast by the time the flick begins production in January 2008. The movie is presently being put together by Russell Gerwitz, who wrote the script for Inside Man which also starred Washington.

Ratner has directed music videos for Wu-Tang Clan, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey and Sean "Diddy" Combs. His film credits include the Rush Hour series, Money Talks, X Men: The Last Stand and The Family Man, among others.

then you have jammie foxx who was one of the funniest dudes on In Living Color, and one of the hottest actors out, and denzel maybe.

One thing for sure is the fact that Brett Ratner is an incredible director, hands down.  The other thing too is Ratner & Chris Tucker have already proven that they have director/actor chemistry with the Money Talks & Rush Hour flicks.  As for Murphy, Rock, Chappelle & Foxx, it'll be interesting to see how they'll mesh in the script.  Last but not least, Ratner mentioned the other night on Jay Leno that for the Rush Hour movies, he let Tucker & Chan improvise a lot of their lines, which is important when it comes to doing comedies, since timing & delivery is key.  So I'm assuming he'll also let this all-star cast improvise at will, since being in the "comic zone" can happen at a moments notice.  I'm curious how Denzel Washington will fit in all of this?  Nonetheless, I just hope the hype doesn't disappoint in the end.  Sometimes too much is too much, but I'll give Ratner the benefit of the doubt on this one.
