B.A.R.S >>> American Gangster
« on: November 03, 2007, 04:41:37 AM »
Agree or disagree ?

Funny thing is, I'm a huge Jay fan and never really was a Cassidy one.

B.A.R.S. has better production (those Diddy joints on AG sound like some cheap soundclick beats) and Cassidy's flow shits on Jay's. Lyrically and subjet matter wise, they both did great, it's just that Cassidy sounds more natural (probably due to his life story in the past 2 years), while Jay's sounds rushed and forced.

yeah, I agree, Bars is better, but jigga's album isn't that bad...and I actually liked diddy's production, especially the first two tracks, I like the vibe on them....

LOL, its weird cos im not a huge Jay fan and Im a big Cassidy one, but i like AG >> B.A.R.S lol, I like the feel of Jays album, and while its nothing groundbreaking its dope, Cassidys album is alot more mature than his previous two and while i like that, personally i feel there needs to be more energetic joints, basically I'm a Hustla + B.A.R.S = Classic! I need to listen through boths albums a couple more times though, then ill give my final verdict....

i think there are both very good albums and tbh both could atleast make my top 8 of the year, however B.A.R.S is very impressive and is growing rapidly on me

I initially said "B.A.R.S." wasn't good. But I always give every album a 2nd and 3rd listen so I'll post my final opinion later. "American Gangster" was just ass tho. Sounds like Jay-Z scrapped up a bunch of leftovers and put it out just to get free promo from a highly anticipated movie of the same name.

i agree with king on this one. BARS is a great album, just took a second listen today from 1-14, shit is amazing, 2 last tracks !celebrate! and ! all by myself! are really sick,
jay z album is inspired by a movie ,talks indirectly mostly about the movei and it was done in one month lol,..cassidy album is winner here.
