I've been using emusic.com for about a year now. It's awesome. There's so much quality underground, independent hip-hop on that site it's unreal. Not having the cover doesn't really bother me, and the credits are normally easy enough to find (*cough* The Vault *cough*)

I'm totally against downloading albums illegally. Maybe it's because I'm older than some of the heads here, so I didn't grow up with the concept that you get music free. The idea of just sitting on a PC and essentially stealing every album I want from the artists really offends me. The only time I'll do that is if an album is out of print and I can't find a used copy, or if it's one of those out of print albums where the used price is ridiculous.

Rant over, LOL.

Actually pay for digital downloads? like you'll buy MP3s from Itunes, Napster, Amazon, etc? even whole albums from those retailers..Just curious to see if the paid digital download age has had any help at all with sales..

especially west coast..

I don't buy music online. I always want hard copies. The little music I download are 99 % leaks, singles and promos from sites like DubCNN, Nah Right or what have you. Sometimes if I'm looking for a certain song I really want to get I'll download it where ever I can find it, but they're always some shit that's out of print or isn't available otherwise.

I'll buy singles.  But mainly right now I just collect as many pepsi & coke bottle caps to get points & use them 2 get songs right now.  So I can create special cd's.

To put this in a true perspective.

Our digital sales are up over 60% for the year.
Our physical CD sales are down a lil over 10%.

by late 2010, PYO Entertainment International Inc plans to significantly decrease (if not completely remove)
physical discs from our inventory of manufactured goods.

Simply put, CDs are almost as over as Minidisc are now..

Haha, damn right Sheist!

Although, I hope you're wrong about all sales going digital in the future. I just won't be satisfied with the sound quality MP3's are sold today.

I have never bought digital downloads and I probably never will. I like to buy physical copies because I'm a record collector. It just pleasing to watch your own music collection. CDs are more durable than mp3's are. A CD, which is properly taken care of, can last over hundred years where as hard drivers are expected to live about five years.

I USED to, but messed up so many classics when I was younger and didn't realize what I was doing, LOL. It's gotten to the point where some albums are just easier for me to replace digitally.

BTW: To the poster that asked if Amazon digital sales are official, they most certainly are and so are iTunes.
