Then to answer your question, there had to have been something else mixed with the weed to make your high last that long. Even a first time smoker will not get high for more than an hour or two. I don't know really, i never timed it.  But you could, perhaps, be getting the "after effects" mixed up with "being high" Feeling slow, sluggish and tired are usually the after effects the next day.
