I think it was a ton of things, cant narrow that shit down to just one cause. A lot of child stars end up fucked up in the head. Then you had the pressure and abuse from his pops combined with a overly strict Jehova's Witness household. A lot of Jehovas Witnesses end up being really shy and reserved like him. They seem sort of anti-social. Imagine the conflict within him to be this strict follower of Jehova, but at the same time be the ultimate entertainer. Its a shame that such a great entertainer had so many issues. But to be real, as great as he was....if he would have stayed the same normal Black kid he was in the beginning he would never have become as HUGE as he was. He would have had all the same talent, been just as great....but in this world, his wierdness made him even more famous.

His music and his dancing is what people fell in love with him for. you would be surprised to see how many young Black children dont see themselves pretty because of their Black skin and type of hair. Please dont underestimated the effects that white supremacy can have on a young Black child who does have knowledge of thy self. Its a combination of everything. Michael was thrust in front of the spotlight at an early age. He was pushed to be a star by his pops. He came from a household where your taught that the world is evil, man is bad, but you need to become a huge success in the eyes of the same people you think are evil. Thats pretty conflicting shit for a young kid to deal with. THEN, you have the fact that he went from (in a relatively short amount of time) being a kid in simple, strict home in gary Indiana....to a mega celebrity in Hollywood. A Hollywood that, at the time, believed beauty was defined by a Cosmo cover model...not a Jet Beauty of the Week. Michael being programmed to be the big star, im sure felt the pressure to assimilate into that Hollywood persona that allowed him to be what Hollywood felt was beautiful. Bottom line, he was all fucked up.As for the famous part. My point is this. There are a lot of great, and talented musicians who dont become famous. As a matter of fact, some of the greatest...arent famous. Michael is one of the most talented entertainers ever. His talent remained the same no matter what. If he would have stayed who he was, he would have still be just as talented and just as amazing. But Im not convinced Hollywood would have allowed him to become the most famous entertainer of all time had it not been for the skin lightening, and overall change in himself. Shit, Beyonce blew the fuck up in the music industry when she started making herself lighter. Its fucked up, but thats how they do shit. Not to mention, the world loves a freak show. And Michael gave them that shit.
