NEW YORK (AP)—David Ortiz(notes) thinks legal supplements and vitamins likely caused him to land on a list of alleged drug users seized by the federal government, and Major League Baseball and the players’ association said some of the names on the list never tested positive for steroids.MLB said in a statement Saturday that at most 96 urine samples tested positive in the 2003 survey—and the players’ association said 13 of those were in dispute.
“I definitely was a little bit careless back in those days when I was buying supplements and vitamins over the counter—legal supplements, legal vitamins over the counter—but I never buy steroids or use steroids,” Ortiz said during a news conference before his Boston Red Sox played the New York Yankees. “I never thought that buying supplements and vitamins, it was going to hurt anybody’s feelings.”
^^OK first off the only time Giambi was honest was before the grand jury when he was told he had complete immunity, Giambi was honest in court because he was told that his testimony would never leak out so that is why he was honest. After all of that all he did was come out and apologize yet he wouldn't even admit what he was saying sorry for lol. Giambi is no better than Bonds or Clemens, only thing that is different is he was smart enough not to lie on the stand but he has never came clean (only in court when he thought his testimony was sealed).Everyone always rushes in to defend Giambi because they think he came clean but that is simply not the case when you look at the facts. The only time he came clean was with his testimony in court as he was assured that he had immunity, after that in the public Giambi never admitted to anything. He is just as bad as everyone else. Now Petitte came clean but after he was accused and Arod...Well Arod's team of publicists around him knew that after all that has gone on these last few years it wouldn't be smart for Arod to lie like Bonds and Clemens did so they came up with a story saying Arod only did it during the 3 years in Texas. Not a bad strategy because he used the pressure of the Texas contract as a excuse and also when he only said it was those 3 years, he is trying to show that he never used at all in Seattle or New York but I dont think any non Yankee fan would believe that.
how do these guys look in the mirror every day?
His stats aren't that suspicious. A lot of players have a really good plate discipline and develop power right around the same age time Ortiz started to hit for more power. The steroids just added to this effect.
