If Royce can only sell 4k with his fanbase, shouldn't the question really be would Crooked I be able to sell 1k? No hate, just being honest

Crooked I should definitely sign with Rap-A-Lot asap. Who is he signed with anyway? Slaughterhouse would be a good addition to Rap-A-Lot too.

Bullshyt. You're just listening to the excuses and justifications from lazy corporations in the music industry. The question shouldn't be how many platinum albums there have been this year, but how many "Great" albums have their been this year, and you'll see why there hasn't been many going platinum. For these executives putting money behind talentless puppets for the past number of years, and putting out poor quality product over the years have damaged the publics confidence and they're sick of paying for a CD with 1/2 good single songs and the rest filler garbage and it's now finally turning round to bite all them in the ass

There's great albums....but they're mostly underground releases that don't get any push.

Exactly - which is partly my point. If solid releases were to be in the limelight with the huge promotional & marketing budgets over poster boy & girl releases then the public confidence would be still remain high, we'd have true artistic individuals being developed, and large amounts of dedicated fan bases still being established, but somewhere along the line, majors opted for the quicker/bigger pay day short term from having anorexic women who can't sign release albums, and dedicated shows of manufactured pop fully revealed for all to see and hear long after the shows finale. Not just pop, but Rock, Hip Hop and other genres have fallen victim to this sluggish approach. I think we can all agree that Hip Hop albums alone post 2000 were a hit or a miss, and more consistently we were wasting money on a CD because of a good single hyped and all over the radio MTV/BET and TV ad's to find that once we got the album home and listened to it, that the majority of the album sucked, and it was annoying because all these albums were the ones getting the big bucks behind them while - like you said - better, solid albums weren't getting that buzz, and now because we, along with the global nations grew tired of it, we started to download albums to test them first, but we can clearly see from figures that albums can still be released and grab a high slaes figure and be awarded multi platinum all the way up to 7/8/9 millions copies worldwide

It's the industries own fault, and them blaming the internet is just excuses

I think it's funny how fans are so programmed into thinking like they are A&R's now. "Well, this album only sold this much so the album we're talking about will only do this".

Why Rap-A-Lot and why do they to do it ASAP? I'm not saying they aren't a great label but I don't get how it benefits them to go over there as opposed to doing what they've been doing.

Count yourself out then, because to be played on commercial radio requires money!
