Second track, really dislike Krucial's use of the mainstream drumlines now..  I like the 80's feel they doing now, but sometimes the drums just too much, lol.   It's like too popping sometimes, I want a more chillled out production for A Keys..  Oh well.

Try sleeping with a broken heart:  Possibly her best crossover track.  Really went universal on this one..

oh Alicia has a new Album? Hope it's more like her first 2 albums and not a weak Pop Album like her last effort.

ok, I'm through now, and I'm really pleased. I like the sound of this album, very fresh and soulful production. Only dislike 2 cuts. Alicia's songwriting is not always the best, but this album is 10 times better than 'As I Am'. Favourite tracks are 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 for now.

for me, between  4,5/5 and 5/5

Back.

If you took the production of last album, added an 80's vibe, and the song content of the first and second album, you get this.

In spots it's like she is purposely singing with a coarse voice, don't like it that much...  You can hear her pre As I Am voice more on the backing vocals.

Not totally back to the old days, but a big step in the right direction since a disappointing last outting.

3.5/5

I know a lot of people that didn't really like "As I Am", but it was near classic to me.

I like this new one too.  "Put in a love song" is the only song I'm not really into.  "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)" is  :o :o :o

Alicia Keys albums >>>>>>>>> Beyonce's albums

It's great to see a female artist like Alicia Keys who can still make great music that you can feel in your heart.  Not just feel in your nuts.  I haven't heard the rest of the album, but that "Sleeping With A Broken Heart" is a powerful, powerful song!
