Eazy E Why??? If it wasn't for him, N.W.A, G-Funk, Death Row, NONE of that would ever come 2 past. Ice Cube would of gone 2 college, snoop probably die in a drug deal, Eazy probably die from a drug deal (lol), Dr. Dre and Yella would either A. Still be in World Class Wreckin Cru and DJing in clubs, and MC Ren would probably just be at some crappy 9 to 5. Even snoop wouldn't of had a carrier cause There would be no NWA thus no Riff between cube, and then later a Riff between everyone. :/ Its pretty much a wierd ass Cycle of events. I'm not even joking.

 Exactly.  Eazy-E is the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap" because he created the super group that most modern day successful rappers are, by extension, a part of.  Most successful contemporary rap artists can be traced back to the NWA family tree in one way or another.  In addition to that, he created a business model that many other companies such as Death Row, Aftermath, Rap-A-Lot, No Limit, etc. have tried to copy.
 Now, if we're judging based on skill as a rapper, I can see that an argument could be made for Snoop being the "better" rapper.  But using the above criteria, I think you'd have to give it to Eazy.  Snoop in his prime was great.  And at various points in his career, Snoop has been good.  But it really is true that Snoop probably wouldn't have had a career if it weren't for Eazy.

Pretty much everyone of N.W.A Is considered The God Father of Gangsta Rap (School D is considered The Father and creator) Ice T is considered another great but N.W.A is what revolutionize everything.
 

Only reason we don't call The other members God Father all the time is because they've expanded into something greater (normally).


Dr. Dre - G-Funk, Death Row, Eminem Founder, Aftermath, The Producer

Ice Cube - The Fuck the system, no holds bar Don Mega. Cube The one who openly said Fuck Amerikkka, highlighted hypocrisy and could make a album that didn't pander 2 Gangsta shit even though its 1 of the more hardcore shit around (death Certificate).  He mostly became known now as the member who turned Rapper/Actor.

MC Ren - The Villain, Underground member of N.W.A.

DJ Yella - Well He only did 1 album, but mostly was a producer. Left the industry and pretty much Directed Porn. He barely retains the title cause he was a active member of N.W.A


Eazy E - This is his only title cause that's all he did. He didn't do any Innovated stuff with production, all he did was open ruthless, put together N.W.A, and created acts like Bone Thugs. Carrier Wise, his rapping only stuck out do to his vocals, his production on later albums was derived of the G-Funk Dr. Dre made popular, Only reason he didn't fade out into the underground like ren was because of his Feud with Dre and Death Row. Death Row acourse at the time had become the number 1 label at the time do to its huge innovated releases.


So its not like the title was really put on E cause he is dead. Its cause He and the other members of N.W.A helped rap Progress at the time in there own way.



Now if it came to Skill on the mic. I'm going with Snoop only when he does his G-Funk flow. Cause when he raps normally, he's just pedestrian.  Only when he can flow with a slow groove does it empathize his style. Eazy On the other hand wins when it comes 2 the Comedic elements that he retain in all of his albums.

Eh, God Father is held a position of respect and power. Seeing as how N.W.A reached Notoriety that no other band ever has. I mean Think of it like The Beetles, ok now imagine that Positive except reverse it and that's how much they caused problems. I mean N.W.A Albums were actually taken by police under laws of endangerment. Ask anyone 2day, there 2 albums still rank as some of the most hardcore shit U can get ahold of. So considering N.W.A is basically a combination of them all they all deserve the title. the group basically was bring out the best of each artist and that's even without Ice Cube. Rens storytelling was amazing. lol I mean he's talking about a preacher Daughter getting gangbanged as smooth as Dre Chronic album. lol

N.W.A. was three people. Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube. And without one, the other two might not have been what they were. Yes, they all went on to success to different degrees without each other but if those first records didn't have Cube's anger, Dre's production, or Eric's business savy then who can say where they'd be today. That being said, Snoop is still the better artist than Eazy in nearly every sense. Eazy was great at the business end but compare his flow on any of those early records (or even later ones) with an early Snoop's flow and it's no contest.

cube does not have the same versatility and subject matter that 2pac has...both have amazing rap voices (both different but they work) and both have their fair share of classics.


but Pac made more classics in less time, and had more lyrical content  (he even made a song about his mama lol).

2pac was an ARTIST - NOT a Rapper. he couldn't spit if his life depended on it. he was great conceptualy in the writing booth and on an emotional level, but ANY  nigga could chew him up alive in a battlecypher -snoop, dpg, biggie anyone. he WASN't a "rapper"- he was a wonderful artist wit a capturing, deep emotional and fantastic voice - a poet (a hiphop version of MLK), but dat's were it stops
