I personally think the england side is overrated but they do have some very good players and an exceptional manager. 2008 was down to McClaren who was clueless.

I agree with all of that.

It would be foolish to say that England couldn't win the WC, hell Greece was Euro 2004. Not trying to be a dick and comparing England's 2010 chances to Greece's 2004 chances but they CAN win it.

That being said I can't see England having a strong enough ELEVEN to beat a team like Spain or Argentina or Brazil. And they will have to probably beat at least 2 outta 3 of them if they are to win it all.

No matter how good Wazza is at the moment, I can't see him carrying England to glory which is what will need to happen imho.

Nor can i, plus a couple of injuries to key players will show up how weak the squad really is.

does England finally have a presentable keeper? If they plan to enter the tournament with keepers like James I'm not too afraid of England

You're right. This is our biggest issue but the media and staff refuse to address it. I know I'm biased being a Newcastle fan but I'd actually be more confident with our guy Steve Harper in the sticks than most of the shit we've got to choose from (I know this won't happen though).

Out of our choices I'd have to go for Joe Hart as first choice.

messi just tore it up today in CL against arsenal....this is the time for him to win a WC and stamp himself in the books

you seem to forget that the team he plays for has an inept manager. Argentina have a good side but they'll get outsmarted, outplayed and outclassed by the favourites of the competition when they come up against them. Messi may be a great player, but there are going to be all of the best players in the world there....and in better teams.

So, we nominated our extended roster for South Africa (with 4 more to go):

Neuer
Wiese
Butt

A. Friedrich
Aogo
Badstuber
Beck
Boateng
Lahm
Mertesacker
Tasci
Westermann

Ballack
Jansen
Khedira
Kroos
Marin
Özil
Schweinsteiger
Träsch
Trochowski

Cacau
Gomez
Kießling
Klose
Müller
Podolski

Some horrible choices, but with potential for the future. I read 11 players are 23 or younger. Well, I don't think we'll be a contender for the title this time, but the future looks promising.

Well, it's a shame Hummels is not nominated and Tasci is ::) fucking joke, Dortmund finishes before Stuttgart, but Stuttgart: 3-4 players, Dortmund 0 :-X
Trochowski is a joke, as well as Cacau and Beck (hope they all stay home). Aogo would be the 4th to go. And lol @ Träsch  And he nominated Poldi, Klose & Gomez but not Kuranyi :-X

So, what do your teams look like?

Löw just loves Stuttgart. Everybody knows that.

Aogo, Tasci, Träsch and Cacau should go. But that would never happen.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin
