this is a lame release. they should really focus on all the vault tracks at the rate some of the unreleased tracks are leaking out nowadays. you'd think they'd learn... ::)

agreed with this 100%

Not sticking up for WideAwake, but even if it were all released tracks, you guys gotta remember that the average hip-hop fan isn't as into this shit as we are. I could see a rerelease of Snoop's albums and guest appearances from Death Row selling better than most other projects stored in the vault. Those albums came out 15 and 18 years ago so I bet a lot of people that bought those albums back in the day either lost or ruined their copies. For us it sucks, but for a business move it's not THAT ridiculous.
From a product sales point, Doggfather and Murder Was The Case have not been released since Wideawake purchased the catalog so I can see putting them out. I'm actually surprised at how slowly they are putting out the previously-released catalog albums.

No kidding @ the slowness. Put every album back out on iTunes at the least and slap a couple bonus tracks on each of them. The overhead on that shit is pennies and the average joe on iTunes is much more likely to purchase that stuff then say a Sam Sneed album. Not saying I don't want the Sneed album but common business sense would tell you to first digitally rerelease all the classic albums with a couple bonus tracks to build up some money for promotions of future releases.

This "would" have been the ideal solution for everyone:

Re-release the entire back catalogue discography with the WIDEawake stamp - possibly add 1/2 bonus track(s) relating to that release. They should have done this straight after the Chronic re-lit..

Doggystyle (with Gz Up Hoes Down)
Above The Rim (Lord G - Deeper, 2Pac - Pain)
Murder Was The Case (OFTB - Hot One)
Dogg Food (lets play house OG)

etc.

& followed that formula by re-releasing x3 every month, sit back and generate some revenue without using large amounts of unreleased material so that they could have put out those full quality unreleased albums later that were actually of CD quality, and not sloppy bootleg-like Japanese releases

The videos will probably be youtube rips on a data CD only viewable on a computer

this is a lame release. they should really focus on all the vault tracks at the rate some of the unreleased tracks are leaking out nowadays. you'd think they'd learn... ::) push/ promote the new shit & just creep out those re-releases... yea they should release on a monthly basis, 1 month new material, the next old & keep it going like that...

Business wise this will prob make more money than any of the vault albums.

And add Hot One by OFTB on the Murder was the Case album, which was a cassette only bonus track
