last physical album i bought was in like 05 or 06, lol
fuck a lousy compact disc, its all about external hardrives now

used to be a big record-collector when i was younger tho... ~3000 cds , 500 lp's

That's ok if you got high quality rips. Depends on what you can get hold of

indeed, there's a big difference between the old 192 rips and various dodgy encodes from back in the day and crispy VBR that are the scene standard now. newer versions of LAME have also improved MP3 sound quality a lot. ideally you want VBR V0/320 or itunes m4a as a pure digital copy. will be better when pure lossless is offered as a purchase choice for digital music. bandcamp is awesome.

if it's an old album, most go for very little on amazon marketplace these days, like a few pounds/euros/dollars. i'd pay that for something more obscure just to make my own rip and you get the hard copy to boot. paid for digital copies for older music are still a rip off in this regard. free downloads obviously work well too, where available

Justice at regular music store but its a CD/DVD
Brotha Lynch's off the Strangemusic website.

Is cduniverse.com and amazon the best place to buy?

for most cds it's say yes. cdbaby.com is good for independent releases

cause it was basically buying it as an imported cd at a music store.
however this was right when it was released.
i didnt think of buying it on amazon or whatever.
