Re-up Releases "California Child" Mixtape For Free D/L - By : Rud - June 9, 2011

 

Dubcnn receives so much new music each and every day sometimes we find it hard to ensure everything gets dealt with and occasionly some gems get missed. It's been over a month at least now since this to me in my inbox and I admit I let it slip; that was a mistake - one I am rectifying today.

Re-up is the artist to whom I must apologise, this 25 year old MC has been making noise now on the coast with his online material as well as in the streets.

Born Alex Torres, Re-up grew up in the San Fernando Valley in a 1 bedroom apartment with his 5 sibling’s and single mother. His upbringing included his father being deported to Mexico along with his brother, both events ensuring that Re-up vowed to stay out of the gang activity his family was embroiled in.

Despite this vow his mid-guided youth saw him in an LA Country Jail following spells in juvenile detention after six epulsions from school. This turn of events gave him to time to think, re-assess his life and ultimately write lyrics with a view to make music his positive outlet. Having quickly realised he wasn’t going to be discovered freestyling on the block he started to work to save money to invest in his music.

Last month his hard work paid off with the release of his long awaited "California Child" mixtape. Featuring production from BYI Entertainments R.O.M.E. as well as Corry and Digital Devil the 13 track project has been well received online and locally. We have 3 sample tracks for you to check out as well as the full mixtape download below, the first three links are some of the R.O.M.E. productions on the mixtape.
