The only nonsense is this thread. Nate Dogg never threw his talent away, his part in dozens and dozens of classic songs that will be remembered and loved for decades to come prove this.

To me who cares about the content with got g homies and older uncles who talk and sing songs with curse words.  It's just wacc when people try say he was a great singer (as in vocalist) is when equals be putting to much on it. He was the best for rap hooks and he made some good songs but to try to put him on a level of a ron isley is cracchead shit yell
got a good woman at home,& this broad i smashed be-foe

Let's be real. None of you would be fans of his if he hadn't been a part of gangsta rap. lol I doubt any of you even listen to gospel in the first place.

maybe not. but i listen to more old school music (including gospel) than gangsta rap. gangsta rap is what introduced me to these other genres because of the melodic aspect of the genre.

I don't knock Nate Dogg for doing that ignorant, misogynistic music cause I believe that he was being real. when u know that he abducted his then girlfriend and sequestered her you know dude was no saint and probably meant and even lived some of his lyrics. and i'm not gonna lie i've always liked his persona, the lyrics were hilarious to me. the iscrepancy between how earnest he was when he sang the lyrics and the content of them was pure comedy.

however i've always preferred his more introspective/deep music as well as his more mournful/soulful stuff rather than the whole party stuff.

My favorite Nate performances include :

Be Thankful
Why
One More Day
Crazy Dangerous
These Days
I Don't Wanna Hurt No More

basically most of his solo stuff

when a schooled gosper/church-choir boy like Nathaniel Hale (wit an incrredible range as a vocal performer) succumbs to childish immature crap on 90 percent of his repertoire -- that is wasted talent.
Nate was more than some hook-singer, he was perfect as a vocal performer in every diffrent kind of way (adlibs/chants/hooks/harmonica/lead -- everyhtin, the whole kit)
the way he could change/swtich the style/tempo of his vox and voice. and ride out every type of instrumental, and always make it match perfectly. Nate was perfect -- but the lyrics were the problem

he had some "meaningful" songs under his belt as well, but that shit was just a marble in a sandyard.
dependin on the mood, i like his ign'ant shit as well,,, but its a fuckin shame that nearly everythin he did was childish nonsense
and  its a shame that he will  be remembered as the "hoes in diffrent area codes"-dude

He was always having fun. I wouldn't take the lyrics too seriously.

the fact that Nate will be remembered as that "hoes in diffrent area codes"-dude isnt right

i wanna hear tho\

why not? that was his persona...thats what made him nate. what dont u get? the fact that nate will be remember for classics like "aint no fun" and "next episode" is a beautiful thing. he was "the hardest muthafucka" with a soulful touch. there was never any1 like him and there never will be...the fact that u dont even know about his deep songs is a shame:

It's what Nate wanted to do; nobody put a gun to his head and demanded he sing about ho's in different area codes.

I can pull up a thousand posts of me & him disagreeing. Seems like every time we happen to agree, you always are on the other end of it. Judging that you're scientifically homosexual & are one of the biggest hypocrites of all-time & known to be the village idiot after Radiotube, I think it's safe to say that your opinions are retarded & naturally people are going to disagree. Even enemies.
