Resigning Kobe was great for business not for championships.  Glad you are finally following little Buss' vision.

it's good both ways....who can we sign thats better than kobe? not re-signing kobe would be a travesty, and lmao if u think jerry buss woulda done any different

I'm always on the lookout for a 95 Mercedes with 300k miles that will cost me 20k

U JUST PAID $80+ MILL FOR A 2004 BUICK

Now Kobe is saying it could be weeks before he starts playing again. It's a good thing he got that contract locked up first.

As someone who didn't agree with the contract, it's a huge stretch to act like he's conclusively done being a big-time player. It's easy to forget, but dude was dunking over guys like he was in his 20's last year. The guy is an absolute freak and doesn't give a fuck about anyone/anything but basketball. If anyone can make the comeback it's him.

kareem abdul-jabbar had 6 seasons of top-tier level basketball ahead of him at the age of 35

before medical advancements

with a high drive and work ethic, but still not rivaling that of kobe's

fall back

there's always a few exceptions like  brett favre having his best statistical season at QB by far at age 40/41

but Kobe is already crippled right now, he's not going to be worth the money on the court.   maybe selling jerseys and all that shit.

by the way NIK stop being a homer, Kareem was far from "top tier" those last 2 years or so.  14 and 6 and 10 and 6 are not top tier.

ok, you're talking about kareem at age 40 and 41....but he was still playin at an all-star level up until age 40. very attainable for a cat like kobe.

It's just the simple principal Kobe had the option of getting two really good free agents or load up for retirement and only get one max player.

You can sit here and slice it and dice it about whether he's worth it or can win without the second player or whether he'll live up to the contract or be healthy for it....bottom line is that he was selfish.
