People don't really realize it but Dj Quik came up with the whole idea of "California Love"!!! Suge confirmed this, Quik confirmed this & there are a few death row staff people & childhood friends of Suge that I have spoken to that also confirmed that Quik was saying back then then that they need to make a song representin' California & was the one that "California Love" came from.

California Love!

the reality is, quik spends an incredible amount of the time in the studio, and always has.  there's absolutely no way to know exactly how many songs he produced, added elements to, came up with ideas, played a hand in, mixed, remixed, etc.  but there is, undoubtedly, an incredible amount of songs we've never heard and probably never will.  just look at the unreleased el debarge song that we just heard for the first time because he decided to play it during his performance at the house of blues.  but, it is fun to think about and to list songs that people might not know about.

so, here's a couple:
patches stewart "blow" (prod by quik) -

blueline pits song (prod by quik) -

believe it or not, he did some work on the spice girl's debut album. look it up

I remember one of their singles from that album definitely had a g-funk sounding synth lead in the middle of it.  Perhaps it was that one.

haha I been saying that Say You'll Be There and Bumper to Bumper sound like straight up G-Funk,

G-Funk was the flavor of the day in the mid 90's so you had everybody trying their hands at it.

lmao bouli was jammin to spice girls back n the day
