talent wise it's about equal i think

defensively the lakers got the spurs, but offensively the spurs have more weapons they can send 6 or 7 scorers out there but it'll all come down to experience and tape studying

if the lakers play like the suns by increasing the tempo and by playing agressive {which won't be much of a change from the t'wolves} (the spurs are slow and soft)and execute the triangle offense and pound it down to shaq and LET HIM create the plays the first 3 quarters then let kobe take over the 4th it'll be all us.

the spurs will have a hard time trying to copy the wolve's formula against us because A) they're not as active B) the Lakers have learned to work around it

if you notice the lakers blew the wolves out 3 times and finished the wolves off great, but the spurs won by 2

the spurs have a chance but it'll take tremendous energy and heart to do

bowen's probably gonna defend kobe, if he wants to do a good job he's gotta stay in his face CONSTANTLY...he was able to do that last year cuz of kobe's thigh injury, but it'll be hard cuz he has healthy legs. plus kobe is physically stronger this year and can post up against him

Shaq is going to be defended by Rose with Duncan and Robison coming to help. Robinson won't be a factor in this but Duncan needs to watch his fouls and Rose will need to keep under shaq to try to get a convincing flop also the got to watch out because shaq is one of the best passers in the league and his cast is hitting 3's like nothin and the lakers have great cutters in George and Horry

Parker is going to have to pull a Hudsen by scoring 27 a game but also keep fish away from the 3 and try to force him to take it to the post

the lakers just need to defend the 3 point range keep shaq out of foul trouble against duncan, start Madsen and have him defend Duncan with horry and and shaq on the help d, and have kobe and george float around gettng the free man, and have fish stick to parker like glue.

basically i think whoever controls the pace wins the series, we are capable of playing ball like the suns and actually executing

i like the lakers chances but shit will be hard for both teams

good post Jake...

Im kinda expecting this to go the same way most Spurs/Laker matchups go. Shaq usually doesnt play his best, he gets frustrated easily. Kobe usually scores a lot of points. Im fine with Kobe scoring 40 points a game, if the Spurs can stay out on they men, and keep Fisher and Horry from gettin wide open three's all series. For the Spurs, its all gonna boil down too...(like the Suns series), how wel Duncan can get the ball out of the Double team. Im assuming the Lakers will double him up, maybe not at first...Walker will prolly be stickin him. but if he gets off, theyll definetely double down. If Bowen is in the game, his man will probably double up Tim, seein as how he's not a big offensive threat. Almost guarenteed theyll have Bowen stickin Kobe. He did a decent job in other matchups, but we'll see.

LoL...I don't think Walker will be playing much...He played a total of 5 minutes in the series vs Minnesota...LoL

It's gunna be Madsen and Horry, and maybe a little bit of Walker...PeACe

I dunno, i think they gonna go on tha idea that Walker used to play for the Spurs...and played against Duncan in practice alot. Regardless, if the Lakers are smart...theyd stick Horry on him, and have Madsen as the designator fouler lol. God Madsen is such shit lol

What an ignorant statement...Did anyone see him shut down Garnet in the 4th quarter of game six?

as much as i want teh spurs to win, lakers will take it. when u think about it, duncan will have his hands full managing shaq, and thats when kobe will step in.

sorry if jake already said this.... lol

Mark Madsen is still developing as an NBA regular player and as a defender, this was really his first year in playing a role on this team >:(   he will only get better defensively and yeah he should take Duncan at times during the game

The key for the lakers will obviously be defense, they really picked it up the last few games against the T-Wolves, they should let duncan get his poinst and focus on stopping all the other guys like stephen jackson and that rookie trenobil(if thats how u spell it) they should also focus on Malik Rose cause he kills us on the rebounds and shit, madsen should play him cause he has all the energy to keep up with him

Shaq will have a good series but the spurs do have more physical and bigger bodies to throw at him so he shouldnt get frustrated, Kobe will excel against the spurs as usual, nobody in the league can stop him, bowen does a descent job but only Kobe could stop himself

Tony parker has played good against the lakers in the past but i think they will clamp down on him after what troy hudson did to them and besides parker doesnt have the range of hudson

This series will be the best in the second round and is most likely the most difficult for the lakers

tone man it's so painfully obvious that you dont' watch laker games........samaki walker won't play many minutes because he's not a smart defender and doesn't pose a threat to duncan at all he's slow and brings nothing in this series. Madsen on the other hand this year is a live wire, he's strong and like dannyainge said he sticks to you like glue (hence his nick name elmer) he sux offensively but he's a good in the post defender and he'll have a switch off man on the outside most likely

i actually do watch Laker games. Im not gonna front like i watch every fuckin game, rememba...i cant stand them or the bias network they play on. But if u think there is ANYway that Madsen can stop Duncan on even ONE possession, yur insane lol. All im saying, is Walker has more experience then ANYone on LA at guarding Duncan. The only other person id see them stickin on him, is Horry. Madsen's name in this series, is basically only "6 fouls". Cus thats his only purpose, he can try to frustrate Duncan by being "physical"...and use up all his fouls...cus he sucks so bad he isnt a loss to the team when he fouls out. Samaki has guarded Duncan in previous match-ups with the Spurs. And i havent seen anyone on the Lakers do a better job really. Horry is decent, but he can be taken in the post easily. Madsen is just a retard, so Duncan can go around...or over him. And I dont see Phill stickin Shaq on him at all...unless its a CRUCIAL time.

i do watch, just not EVERY game. Im guessing i watch more Spurs games during the course of the year then u do. So do u think u are simply "pulling facts out of your ass" about them? If i am, then u are too. Did i ever mention, u are the king of "calling the kettle black" lol. Dont try to cover up yur faults, but pretending they exist in someone else. Maybe u should get a job workin with Jack Haley, and u guys can compete on who is tha blinder fan.
