It's probably the weakest of his 3 mainstream albums, but it's still good.  TPAB is his best work.

TPAB simply the most important record of the last decade.

I wasn't a huge fan of DAMN. the concept of this album lends itself to my point about abstraction and distillation. There's a clear progression in this direction. DNA was a standout track for me. It's a close call between GKMC and TPAB but I think TPAB has the edge all around. GKMC was more cinematic though.

Production wise GKMC was trash to me. It still is. But i understand why GKMC considered a classic to some.

On the other hand, TPAB is a great album to me, both production wise and lyrically. Kendrick's best.

Damn!... disapointment to me. i don't even want to review.

DAMN is his most palatable album out of his big three for sure.  I find with Kendrick's albums in general, they can be a bit of a slog to get through if you aren't in the right mood to listen to them, and you can't just chuck them on and vibe out to them on shuffle like you can do with say a Snoop Dogg or Kanye album.

I rate Kendrick as a rapper but I find that his experimental voice tones and flow can get a bit annoying sometimes, especially on TPAB.  Hopefully with this new effort he has toned that aspect down a bit.

When all is said and done will he still fit in to peoples top 5s or 10s alongside the likes of 2Pac, Biggie, Nas, Eminem etc?  I feel like around 2015/16 there was this huge hype surrounding him with people calling him the best rapper alive and all that, but I wonder if those listeners have let the dust settle and still feel the same way about him all these years later?

TPAB simply the most important record of the last decade.

Could you explain why you feel like that?

everybody, even Obama, pick this album that year. as i remeber kendrick and his music got a huge part of different political, civil campaign at the time, and still. IMO he frightened like a lot of the impact of the record and his role thats why he made a safety game with his next album damn.

check the wiki page of the albu, there are planyt of reviews with really deep toughts and big sentences, facts, opinions bout the album.

And thats not just my feelings, there are a lot of article bout the important of the record.

check:

Thats just me, but the other 2 important records after this is body count's bloodlust and adrian younges The American Negro.

This 3 albums show the people, specially black people, "situation", the sociaty, the politics in nowdays perfectly (TO ME! thats really important, these are just my feelings)

True, and it got Pac, Dre and Snoop on it.

TPAB simply the most important record of the last decade.

I had to re-read this statement and it's not as far-fetched as I originally thought. It certainly is a unique album and nothing else in that time frame is similar or as experimental. My problem with K. Dot, as someone else has mentioned, is how often he changes his voice. He does it entirely too much for my liking and makes it difficult to listen to his album in one sitting.

I don't have it rated as his #1 album. I'd say my list looks like this:

1. Section 80
2. GKMC
3. OD
4. TPAB
4. DAMN
