Lebron and Bronny — what’s your take??
« on: October 23, 2024, 07:31:59 AM »
Yo Sccit this one’s for you (cause you hatin on me in the baseball threads so I got a basketball one for you)

What’s the word on Bronny and Lebron.  It’s cool to see the father and son thing and must be a great joy for Lebron to be on the court with his son, but the other side of it is—doesn’t it call into question the integrity of the sport if Bronny doesn’t earn that spot??

I can see it both ways

this is a nightmare for all laker fans and a stain on basketball in general

in no way shape or form is bronny qualified to be on an NBA court, and everyone knows it including himself

it also proves that lebrons goal when coming to LA has always been about bolstering his individual legacy and not about winning at all costs… which is no secret really, but a lot of lost laker fans out there still root for lebron despite him hijacking the franchise and making laker basketball virtually unwatchable ……

sidenote- he also had his friend/podcast partner, JJ Reddick, hired as the head coach with ZERO coaching experience

all bad

IMO this is similar to what Giannis did with his brother Thanasis

no way he should be in the league and neither should Bronny :grumpy:

Yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking… and I’ve never been a Lebron fan—the only time I rooted for him was 14-15 when he nearly took down the Warriors in the Finals like all by himself—and off the court when he didn’t take the Convid vxx. But other than that—never been a fan personally or professionally.

But just to play devils advocate hasn’t he kind of earned the right in a way.  I mean like you say Dre has already done everything he can do in the music bizz so hypothetically if Dre actually gave a shit about his sons, lol (which he doesn’t seem to, lol) and late in his career wanted to focus on doing an album with his son or some shit like that I mean wouldn’t he have earned that right late in his career?  I mean imagine the joy of being on the same NBA floor with your son I mean that’s got to be like the greatest thing ever for a guy his age

it’s a little different when you’re a musician doing your own thing

because bron is literally holding an entire franchise hostage in order to do that… which shows a lack of integrity and a sort of self indulgence that the true all times great don’t possess …. cats like mj and kobe did whatever it took to win, where as cats like lebron are more interested in the theatrics surrounding basketball than the actual game itself

and also unlike dre, lebron actually has a lot to prove.. dude actually has a losing record in the finals and save for that bailout covid season, his entire stint with the lakers has been an epic disaster… yet he wants to call himself the goat.

almost, but thanasis is like KD compared to bronny tho … dude actually made an nba roster prior to playing with giannis, where as bronny wouldnt sniff the nba if not for his pops …. different scenarios overall lol

i think u guys made a huge mistake trading randle … he was the heart and soul of the resurgence era and fit the identity of the team better than KAT

yeah I'm with you on that

they also dealt Divenchenzo in that deal who was another core piece last year

KAT has been on a slight decline the last few seasons too :-\

it was a bad trade for both teams

minnesota needed the spacing that KAT provided .. it was an integral part of them reaching the WCF

KAT went for 46 last night but the Knicks lost :grumpy:

it seems like Jalen and KATs games don't mesh well when they're on the floor together

its funny because we had the same problem last year when Randle played with Brunson

KAT is an awful defender

worst big man in the league at protecting the rim

that’s why he was a good fit with Gobert

knicks should probably start KAT at the 4 and Mitch Rob at the 5

aint that the truth

plus on offense he shoots too many 3s for my liking for a big man

looks like we took a step back this year

Knicks are inconsistent as hell this year

Luka and Klay were out and we still lost by 15 :-[
