Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul Discussion Thread
« on: November 16, 2024, 09:47:41 PM »
I love Mike, he's one of my favorite people of all time.  I've read both his auto-biographies, the one about him and Cus D'amato and also the one about his whole life.  The Cus book is especially insightful and inspirational.  Tyson was a playground hero when I was kid, with everyone talking about him knocking out Spinx in 91 seconds or about the Mike Tyson's punchout video games.  Great memories.  He loses the Tyson and Douglass fight but it's my favorite fight of all time to watch on repeat.  The Spinx fight is my favorite event of all time; on youtube the have the entire HBO broadcast pre and post fight and it's absolutely beautiful and reminds me of the great decade that was the 80's.

But Tyson vs. Paul was bullshit.

if Mike was Pauls age and they were fighting back in the day he would have another one of those 1st round signature knockouts

but yeah at 58 it was a mismatch of sorts

Look im not sure because it’s hard to tell for certain but it looked like there may have been a silent agreement.  Mike came out strong first round and Jake kind of ran from him, it seems though there were a couple chances for Mike to get a big shot on Jake and he didn’t take it.  Then Mike was totally out of gas at the end and Jake just stood there and lightly jabbed

Bullshit ass fight and will tarnish mikes legacy and I’m one of the biggest Tyson stans in the world as an 80’s Mike Tyson’s punch out/Michael Spinx I lived in real time so he was like a God or Superhero when we were kids and I noticed Mike been in hiding since the fight
