I thought his G Funk comment was interesting. Can anyone speak on that, is there any truth in that?

yes but mainstream nothing compare to  NWA or the first chronic ;
real hip hop heads know their shit , Above the Law Legends , time will reveal Big Hutch solos , Daz solos are on another level  .

This is not another soul on earth, besides Daz's family that believes that he created a solo album as good as any of Dr. Dre's solo albums.

I don't know about sonically or production quality wise, but I will say I like Daz's Revenge Retaliation and Getback, as well as RAW much better than Dre's Compton album and the Contract EP.

those first 2 albums are borderline classic

mostly old Death Row stuff that Daz took with him for the RAW album though

Dre is a good producer, but he didn't make the beats he's credited for.

Does that seem unusual to you?  Are we only allowed to compare rap albums made the same year?  Someone said there wasn't a single person here who would think any DAZ album is better than any DRE album, I beg to differ.  If you wanna move the goalposts to that argument where the albums have to be from the same year, then so be it.

Artist are missing out on streams and sales by not releasing the instrumentals.

when comparing artists were speaking of their prime years

The thread is about Dre as a producer.  Production wise (or otherwise) none of his albums are touching any of Dre's albums. I don't consider the Contract as an official album, but I would argue that production wise it is still better than any of DAZ's projects (without Dre).

And that is not a knock on Daz.  I love his Revenge Retaliation and Get Back.  Still listen to it, objectively it is not touching any of Dre's albums production wise.
