#1: All the violence and all its victims. R.I.P.

Then there's:

-Payola
-Haters, people who refuse to recognize talent even they know it's there.
-Dickriders/Groupies
-Bubblegum-pop rappers (Nelly, Ja...)
-Bling Bling!
-Stupid beef (not all beef, beef is healthy, but some shit is just dumb... Like Suge beefing with all the ex-inmates. What's really the freakin' point in that?)
-Talents who were tight with each other before fallin' out 'cause of stupid beef. (Like Pac & Dre)
-Rappers following the trends too much and not doing what they do best (e.g. Snoop)
-Talents (almost) giving up their careers 'cause they don't get recognized like they deserve to be.
-Label bullshit
-Peeps claiming to be gangsta when they're not, even when they would have enough talent to make it big by being themselves.

Quote from Bad Azz:
Quote
it's like all of the sudden
everybody's want a Bentley
everybody got a rap
everybody done been in a gang or sold a little crack
How's that?

Gangsta Rap's influence - As much as I love gangsta rap at it's best, I have to say that it influenced too many rappers to become wanna be gangstas and all. Even all the NY raps that we hear nowadays are brewed from gangsta rap.
When it first came out it was dope, and some of it even had a message. Nowadays, all this "Thug rap" shit is annoyin as hell, even tho everybody likes it. Not only does every rapper try to brag about how rough they grew up, how they sold crack, how they'll shoot u, but kids from the suburbs think this is "real hip hop" so when they hear all the Eastcoast "mixtape rappers" they think that is real rap, but when rappers such as those from the underground spit, they are considered boring just because they aren't sayin how many people they'll kill.

Have you ever heard "Ain't nothin' but a bitch thang"?  That's a good diss and it's all true, unlike the story Em tells about "shooting paintballs at them".  Check it out when ya get a chance.   Really, how exactly does ICP "ruin" hip hop?

they really just dont bring anything new to the table except songs about stabbing people...and those really are just annoying....they have had a few good songs...i liked about 6 or 7 tracks from the bazaar album(s)...but for the mostpart...i think they should just quit trying to do music

Actually, the days when rappers started to get their first real money from what they did were the first days of ruining hip hop.... The day when you get your first material benefits from your music is the last day you make music just for the fuck of it.... So hip hop has been ruined more than a decade ago.

Before rappers started to get paid hip hop was gutter music. Now it's a profession like every other typa music. Just figure out that almost every rappers' best album is his first one, and you'll know what I'm sayin'.

In no order....

1. Pac's death (to me, things went for a downward spiral after this)
2. Big's death
3. Em starting to yell in his "raps" and not stick to his tight freestyle flow. I used to fiend for em tracks, now I don't even care.
4. 50 cent getting over rated to the point where he is compared to classics
5. Loss of fresh commercial rap
6. Too many songs telling a girl to "shake their ass". Think of something new. Party songs and "babygirl" songs have gotten too repetitive.
7. Snoop selling out and making a stupid ass TV show.
8. Snoop losing his flow (please release ain't nothin but a g thang 2!)
9. Too much focus on dumb ass hooks rather than verse content
10. Em and Ja beef.... man has this gotten old
11. 50 using all pac lyrics in his hail mary diss
12. Nas being allowed to be on an official pac track
13. Wack producers being allowed to ruin Better Dayz and Until the End of Time. Get Jonny J on all of them!
14. Kurupt over using profanity... man all he talks about is people sucking his dick now
15. Crook's album being delayed for years!
16. DMX losing appeal. Sucks that his first album was the best, he had a chance of being really great.
17. Rappers turned singers (50, DMX, Snoop, Ja). To quote pac, "I spit that thug shit, nigga, muthafuck singin".
18. Pac not getting the respect and credit he deserves (people using his lyrics, etc)
19. Southern rap (excluding luda, scarface, outkast, dayton family)
20. Midwest rap..... don't get me started

Yes I know, I really like Pac. Ok I think that's enough for now. I had to get that off my chest.
"How the fuck can a tight rap start with fo' shizzle? In his bird ass chest Crooked carves his initials" - Crooked I

I don't know if pac didn't die I don't think he would have
the status he has now as a deadman, but lookin' at it
I think if pac was still here the rap game would be very
different there would be no bling bling shit and big pimpin'
shit there is now and some people who are rap's biggest
stars at the moment wouldn't be if pac were still alive one
that comes to mind is Jay-Z
