Plus they have a great bench in Fisher, George, Fox (when he returns), Bryon Russell, Luke Walton... ;D

The Spurs are the Champs...but they have a completely new team and so do the Lakers, but the Lakers have a much better team now....Come on Rasho Nesterovic trying to fill in for Robinson, LMAO...and BTW, what's so funny about Luke Walton?  He's a great passer and can play great defense...he can even score a few points here and there....and you think that's funny?  ???

First, Luke Walton is shit lol George is solid, Fisher a solid backup point guard, Fox ok, for a bench player (definetely not a starter IMO). But anyways, the Spurs...Nesterovic will be ok. No he's not David Robinson...but Robinson is a future hall of famer, so how many are? He's gonna contribute good defensively, and on the boards. Mercer is a SOLID scorer, and actually a pretty good defender. I dont care for Horry at all, but hopefully he'll help out...especially with spreading the floor for Duncan down low. No one in the league is gonna stop him if he's on. Garnett couldnt do it, Malone's never done it, Shaq got torched last year in any one on one matchups, so with the leagues best player...and a strong supporting cast, i dont see the Lakers gettin past them...again. Having an "all star" lineup doesnt always win championships. Im sure most Laker fans felt they had more "talent" last year the the Spurs...well...like i said before, Whos the Champs? Besides, maybe Kobe will go the Spurs next year LOL  ;)

Luke Walton is a rookie...he's inexperienced...what makes you come to the conclusion that he's shit?  Have you even watched him play?  anyway, Lakers have a much deeper team than San Antonio this year...a much better bench...just think about the guys on the lakers that are hurt and not playing right now....Rick Fox, who will be back in a couple months, Slava Medvendenko, who can provide instant offense...Brian Cook and Jamal Sampson...(a couple big guys that will hustle and rebound)  Spurs struggled to win their first game against Pheonix yesterday and this is an entirely different team...It's not the same team that wont he Championship last year...so how can you Say "who's The champs" when some of those guys weren't even on the team that won it last year....such as Nesterovic, Mercer, Horry, Turkoglu and Anthony Carter...only one of these guys have actually won a championship before, that guy being Horry... ;D...True They are the defending Champs BUT like I said this team is completely different....Lakers play Spurs in a week or so I think....we'll see how it goes  ;)

well, check the threads from last year on this board...i dont remember ONE Laker fan saying that the Spurs had better talent then them. Actually, i dont remember ONE Laker fan saying ANYone had better talent then them. But they still lost to the Spurs, and didnt even reach the conference finals. So what does that say for the theory of "the Lakers have the advantage" based on your lineups? Where, i dont exactly see a HUGE despairity anywayz. Duncan is a more solid and consistent player then anyone on the Lakers. Malone is good, but he doesnt worry me ONE bit. Payton can run a team as well as anyone, BUT..Tony Parker has had VERY good success against him in any of their head to head matchups. If u remember the playoff series against them 2 yrs ago, he completely dominated Payton. I see the Laker top 4 as very good, but the Spurs have more depth to me.

damn daygo u dissapoint me, i said the lakers were not deep enough or good enought to win the championship last year, want proof??????? go back and look, i aint lyin

i hate it how every1 assumes that all laker fans are cocky and think they are #1, im not like that at all, in fact i got some heat from my own lakers fam in here for saying they werent gonna win

n e ways yeah the lakers look good on paper but so did the portland trailblazers a few years ago and look what happened to them

this year though we do got a deep bench no doubt with much room for improvement with the young players

good start for both us though, the spurs won but so did the lakers ;D

Spurs lost 80-72 against the Nuggets tonight, wow! talk about lack of scoring
