Mouth-Shaped Urinal....ahaha

March 18, 2004 -- This is one set of lips you're never going to want to kiss goodbye.
A urinal shaped like the puckered-up mouth of a woman waiting to be kissed is being installed in the men's room of the newly-opened Virgin Airways Clubhouse at Kennedy Airport.

John Riordan, customer-services vice president of the British airline, said the urinal should be a hit.

"We expect the response to the urinal to be very positive," he said.

"With everything we do, we want there to be a smile, and that's also the case in the clubhouse. The urinal is just for fun. But it's not the centerpiece of the clubhouse."

He admitted, however, that some fliers might be p.o.'d by the bathroom humor.

"There will be some people that won't like it," he said.

 

The "Kisses" urinal was designed by Netherlands-based company Bathroom Mania.

"Kisses, the sexy urinal, makes a daily event a blushing experience! This is one target men will never miss," the company says.

Riordan said the other urinals in the lounge are all standard.

The swanky, 7,000 square-foot clubhouse opened last month in Terminal 4 to much fanfare.

It boasts a waterfall that flows into a 100-foot long reflecting pool, a bar with a 42-inch plasma screen, booths with iMacs, a main dining area and a cocktail lounge equipped with four Sony PlayStations.

The clubhouse is open for passengers flying its new upper-class suite service, which features individual cubicles with flat-bed seats that have mattresses.

Riordan said there are no plans to install the "Kisses" in any of the airline's other airport clubhouses.

Bathroom Mania's motto is to "create a fantasy world in the bathroom by working on impressions and stories."
