R&B Singer Houston Gouges Eye Out After Apparent Suicide Attempt

R&B singer Houston gouged out his eye after an apparent suicide attempt at a London hotel, sources close to the singer said.

The Los Angeles native, who scored a hit last year with the Chingy and Nate Dogg-featured "I Like That" (see "Houston Scores Club Hit With Help From Chingy, Nate Dogg"), was overseas for a series of performances when the incident occurred. According to sources close to the artist, he first attempted to jump out of a hotel window but was stopped by his security personnel. He was then locked in his hotel room, where he injured himself.

There are currently no further details on the incident. Representatives for Houston's label, Capitol Records, could not be reached for comment.

Just looking at that picture makes my eye hurt. What's funny, not that it's funny, is that in RnB it's a career killer. If this was in the 80s and he was in death metal, he'd be bigger than ever after this. Look what that wierd shit did for Ozzy. You think Michael Jackson or Madonnna could have bitten the head off a dove and kept their careers going? I don't. If Curt Cobain had ripped his eyes out instead of killing himself, he'd be looked upon as some sort of prophet who "couldn't fully see the world until he went blind".

^ Come on man.  Michael & Madonna did plenty of stupid shit and kept their careers going. 

When I saw this story earlier today on another site, I immediately was afraid that Whitney had finally went off the deep end.  Good to see she's still in one piece.
