Hip-hop is way iller than punk. Punk is like the whiteboys version of counterculture.

........Don't be offended, I'm no authority on punk.

anyways.. yes i listen to some punk sometimes.. old Pennywise stuff, 'The Macc Lads', The Clash.. does Green Day count?

most of the influence is due to songs i've heard and liked on skateboard videos.. which themselves contain a wide and eclectic mix of music..

So I'm not aloud to talk about black people and I'm not aloud to talk about white people.  Could ya'll do me a favor and tell me who I'm aloud to talk about?  I said punk was white boys counterculture... I have no idea what is so upsetting about that statement.  Ya'll don't get out much.

The Clash is a great band, London Calling is definetly up there for one of the greatest albums.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

London Calling is overrated to fuck for me.

People always rank it highly on lists for some reason. There wasn't one highly talented musician in the whole band.

don´t confront him with the truth, he can´t take it

...I never got into London Calling either, but it´s good. I love Green Day, but we´ve been discussing whether it counts or not...to me the older stuff does, from a technical/musical point of view at least...i made a topic about green day like 10 days ago or sumthin

Punk was never about musicianship, if you want talented musicians listen to Jazz Or Metal.
