NBA MVP 2005/2006...lets get some Predictions
« on: May 30, 2005, 01:29:29 PM »
As I remember, some people here said Kobe Bryant was "easily" going to get the MVP this year and the lakers were GOING to make the playoffs..that didn't happen  ;D.

But I also thought Lebron James ewas going to get MVP and the Cavs were going to make the playoffs aswell..that didn't happen  ;D

So let's start voting on who will be the MVP next season...then when next year is over, we'll come back to this thread and see who's right  8)

My Vote: Lebron James  ;D

I'll predict Amare Stoudemire. His play in the playoffs this year was unbelievable and he is only going to get better.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

Los Angeles Lakers
Anaheim Angels

If Amare can play like he's played in the playoffs, he'll probably get it.  Mutha fucka averaged 37 points a game in the playoffs against the Spurs...that's goddamn ridiculous.

Amare was underrated big time during the actual season.  He was a top 5 player in the season.  Stoudamire is having the same type of first few years in the NBA like Garnett.  Although I htink Amares third year was better than Garnetts third year...but both players doubled after the first season and increased in the third but I think amare increased more in thi past season.  So was it a coincidence that Nash's arrival was at the same time Amare is going to experience his natural growth as a Superstar i nthe leauge?  We'll never know, but i think Amare is the key to the Suns success.

out of that list, i actually went with Lebron.

Duncan will be close, cus the Spurs should be one of the better teams again next year....maybe even the top team. But, i think the voters are shying away from him winning it again.

Garnett, he's off the chain...but he's gonna need a lotta help. His team is honestly gonna have to bounce back AMAZINGLY for him to win it. And i mean, amazingly. Not just like a 5 or 6 seed....like a 1,2,3 seed.

Kobe, i dont see him getting it for the same reasons i dont see Garnett. Unless LA does something great next year i dont see the voters giving it to him. They cant just "make it" into the playoffs. After youve won championships (even if Shaq was there with you), the voters are gonna axpect your team to be a top knotch team in order for u to get voted MVP

Wade, he's tight...but no. All i can say about that. Shaq will still get a lot of credit for Wade's success.

Lebron, IMO doesnt have to do much to be considered for MVP. His team needs to make the playoffs, yes. And they do need to get a decent seed....maybe not even higher then 5 or 6 though. They play in the East, so thats very possible. He's on the rise (careerwise), which does play a part IMO. You see players like, Duncan, like Kobe, Iverson etc....that have done alot in their careers so far to impress coaches, analysts, etc...its almost like for them...they have to compete against their own image. If they dont outdo themselves...they dont look as impressive as they are. Lebron still has a lot of improving left, and im sure next years Lebron will be better then last years....

If only the writers dont go for the trendy pick or the lets give it to somebody new route.  I hate that.  years to come for quick reference the fan will look at the MVP award and say "hmm he was the best player for 2008"  So if lets say Player A was that damn dominant for 8 straight years then PLayer A should have gotten 8 straight MVPs who cares if its the same player.

DUNCAN!!! lol

Jordan was able to get the award alot, but look at how much his image did for the league....so it wasnt a problem. No one else right now, is THAT big as far as a household name....so they play the politics.

Well, playing center had a lot to do with that...
