Paramedics arrived at the scene immediately, and determined that Mathers had ingested a lethal amount of methamphetamine hydrochloride. Mathers was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:02 AM. He was 29. According to friend and labelmate Andre ``Dr. Dre'' Young, Mathers had been working strenuously in the pair's Los Angeles ``Aftermath'' recording studio, in order to complete the musical score to Mathers' upcoming motion picture, ``8 Mile.'' Young refused to comment any further on the situation. Mathers had just finished working on his third major-label album, entitled ``The Marshall Mathers Show.'' The album debuted at the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 200 during its first week of sales, and still remains at the top of the charts. Mathers is survived by one daughter.
