i was thinking that the Island could end up being pergatory........it would explain a few things

- Why the Others leave good people and children alone
- Everyone is being tested for their past wrongdoings
- That baptism stuff in the last episode
- The doomsday thing they keep resetting
- How Ecco's plane ended up there

Theres lots of holes in the theory though, like the random people that died after surviving the crash...like Boone, but alot of it can be explained as people serving their purpose so that others can serve theirs. Maybe the Others are keepers of the gate or something

its not pergatory, the producers/writers have stated that, there's a plausable explanation for everything thats happening, and they're all still alive

check 'em out, i think its a combination of both of those, #1 seems more "plausible" than number 2 though

basically, 108 minutes is how long it takes for a satelite to make a trip around the earth, some scientists are using the satellite to monitor polar reversal for the year 2012 (which is when the mayan calendar predicts the world will end, and the reason) .. there's a group of "collective concious" scientists which is the dharma project, who are monitoring all this shit, and can basically control/influence with any traces of metal in it (the plane crashing)

they have to reset the clock every 108 minutes to keep the readings right. the others take the children so people wont leave (they take walt, michael stays to find him, michael is the only dude who knows how to build a raft!) etc.. the shows gonna take a whole sharman/priest lord of the rings turn i think, locke vs ecko, followers of locke vs followers of ecko etc..

Just watched it.I really like it.Some nice background on Charlie.Clarie looked fine as hell.Those blue eyes

ok, good lookin out...i hadnt heard that the producers had already discredited that. im glad thats not it, i wasnt lookin forward to the show takin a religious turn

^ the show will be taking a religious turn, you've got eko (a priest), charlie (an alter boy/religious man) and locke who believes in faith.. they've also said that locke & eko's relationship is going to become a focal point of the show, so it couldn't really be anything else but religion i dont think, unless they're hunting down the others together or somethin like that

Hey all, just finished watching the first season over the last few days (aided by a few plane trips and being home sick!), and am now onto season 2 on my iPod, so will join in when I catch up over the weekend - love this show though.
