everybody treats this show like its a movie. everybody wants it to resolve the story right away, but as long as the ratings are good its gonna be on tv and its gonna take its time getting to where it wants to go. am i the only one who thinks that all the little challenges they face on the island and that the relationships developing between the characters and the back stories on the people are interesting and very well-done?

I have totally LOST interest in lost since it moved from Channel 4 to Sky One like last year. Lost for me is a perfect example of how something can be so good you want more of it, then when it does finally come you wish it hadn't.
There is so many questions that remain unanswered and it seems like to me they are dragging it out as much as possible in order to make as much money off it. Same with the last season of the Soprano's. It should never have been made and it in many ways discredits the previous masterpieces before it.
If we look back at Lost series 1 and 2 there are so many questions that remain unsolved and instead of them being answered, they are left. The story keeps going forward instead of maybe going backward and telling the audience what these things are and how they came to be. The bit where they have fucked up in my opinion is, THE OTHERS!!!! What started out as crazy people in the woods, has now turned into doctors and experimental people and shit. Its a joke.

What do the numbers mean?
Why do they have relevance?
Why is there two islands? and why didn't Suited find it when he sailed around?
What is the black smoke? Why can you see your face in it when it appears?

Where is the radio message coming from?
Who where the others in that French bitches crew?
Where is the island?
Why are they there?
And so on...and so on....and so on...
Just boring now.

There's a rumour that there are 'other' others - I don't believe that all the people we saw walking around in the forest are the same guys living in the village and working on the Alcratraz island.

that damn smoke creature is the most mysterious thing on that show. i'm sure that it's true purpose/nature will only be revealed at the end of the series.
The producers have basically said that it will appear again before the end of this season, and that you'll get some better insight into exactly what it is. But they added that how it 'works' and how it fits into the bigger picture of what is happening on the island won't be revealed until at least season four... Bastards.

Another big moment is when an old favorite of the show returns. Locke is just about to kill himself in the Dharma grave pit that he fell into after Ben shot him when he hears a voice telling him not to. He looks up to see...WALT!! Walt helps him out of the pit and then disappears.

The man could be Michael. Let be observant. The neighborhood he drove into definitely had an african american etnicity to it. Form the barbershop and the men in front of it and the funeral home across the street and the actual funer director. While you right in saying anyone could live in a ghetto it deffinetly seems like as a clue as they really emphises this. Jack seems broken up by the death but we cant figure out why. The reason he is so broken up which we learn from the last few scenes especially the one of his apartment with all the maps and charts spread out he wants so bad to get back to this mysterious island, which seems no one knows where it is. Where did we last see Michael sailing off into the ocean. So other than whoever rescues them,which sounds like some type of covert government agency which I am sure kept and is keeping the islands whereabouts a secret, Michael knew because he sailed away and learned of the secret location. Now with Michael dead Jack feels hopeless and loses it again realizing now he may have lost his only possible chance of getting back to the island

- Event starts off with a clip with Michael Emerson calling the Others a "Rebel Sect"
- Also on the clip show "By the time you see this I will be dead," says M.C. Gainey).
- Voice-over: "The survival of the Island is now at stake."
- Footage of the Lost game is shown (You can see this in the DarkUFO Home page)
- Carlton says Rachel probably won't be on the Island.
- Damon says the benefits of only doing 16 episodes (versus 22) a year is they can do more ancillary "awesome" stuff.
- Damon and Carlton say don't get too attached to Richard Alpert, because Nestor Carbonell's on CBS' Cane.
- They're writing episode one, but it's still untitled
Shooting starts in four weeks.
Q&A Section
Q) Wants to know about season three's violent turn and that the powers that be to promise that the Others aren't the good guys.
No promises are forthcoming.
Carlton says they wanted a showdown, and that involved a body count.
Damon says our guys are more violent but prettier. "When Sawyer is punching you in the face, you're like, More please, you're so attractive, can you take your shirt off please?" But when Friendly does it, it's relentless violence. Says Damon, "If the violence stays intense, it will at least be perpetrated by catastrophically good-looking people."

They announce here that Harold is returning as Michael Dawson, but they tell the questioner they're not talking about how or when he returns.
Q) Re: Flashbacks
Carlton says flashbacks and flashforwards are both on the show going forward. "How far forward" and "with whom" are the Q's.
Q) Will Jack and Claire find out they are related?
Carlton rings the bell on Damon, but Damon nods furiously. The crowd goes wild.
Q) Did Ben get caught by Rousseau on purpose? Did Ben kill the real Henry Gale?
Damon says he will answer one of those questions. The asker chooses the capture question. Carlton: "He got caught by accident." Damon volunteers this, regarding Ben vs. Henry Gale: "They had words."
Flashbacks/Flashforwards
They were running out of plausible flashback material, so it was time to switch gears into flashfowards. The end date allowed them the certainty necessary to add that element into the show without further antagonizing fans. Carlton: "What you saw with Kate and Jack was not the end of the show." Damon: "The show has never really been about getting off the Island...There's this whole chapter of the story that takes place off the Island." Outstanding!
Michael
Carlton, regarding poor crazy Michael, "He took some extreme actions." Michael's story is about the power of the Island to be redemptive. And this won't be a quick pop by Redemption Island; Harold is a series regular. Michael returns early in the fourth season, or so says Damon.
Q) "What questions are fans not asking that we ought to be?"
Carlton: "Who's in the coffin?" and rings the bell on himself. D.L. and C.C. ask Harold, "Who do you think is in the coffin?" Harold thinks it's the person with the teenage son...probably Locke! Damon would ask, "Who's on that freighter out there, and what do they want out of the Island?" Carlton would ask, "Okay, Kate and Jack got off the Island? Did anybody else get off the Island?"
Q) Will we get back to Libby and was she part of Dharma
Carlton: "It is our intention to get to Libby's story this year, and we think you will be happy when we finish that." Damon: "You're not barking up the wrong tree."
Q_ Will there be a Danielle flashback soon?
Damon: "There are important things going on in that story, and they have to sync up." They'll do that syncing in this season or next.
Q) A fan named Aaron asks, "Can I call the monster Cerberus?"
Damon says...On the blast-door map, C.V. stood for Cerberus Vents. "That's Dharma's name for it, maybe. Cerberus is one of it's names." Damon: "Aaron, may I call you Cerberus?" Aaron-Cerberus: The monster seems kind of seems like it represents judgment. Why did Eko have to die? Damon: The whole deal with the monster will be definitely answered. Carlton: The monster answer is "not going to be 10 seconds of blank tape."
Dharma Film
The Comic-Con exclusive clip was "discovered" in "Narvik, Norway."
The promised clip is one of the station orientation films, hosted by Marvin Candle under an alias. The footage begins with him getting his makeup done and smoothing down his Dharma labcoat. Bunnies! It's about bunnies! Bunny #15, to be specific. Marvin, who calls himself Dr. Edgar Halifax in this film, identifies it as station six, the Orchid. He says the viewer has probably realized by now that he or she is not working at a mere botanical research unit. He apologizes for making him or her lie to friends and family members about the nature of the work. He mentions something that sounds like "Kasimir effect" and mentions the "unique properties of the Island." Then there's one of Jacob's subliminal messages. It may have been some variation on "as Jacob loves you." Then there's a bunny riot. One of the station's alarms blares, Dr. Halifax/Marvin panics. There's an intercut clip of someone riding a bicycle. The clip is inserted upside-down, and the rider appears to be in the village green of Otherville...And then, amid the chaos (perhaps this is the Incident?), the filmstrip slides off the reel.

Word! But I won't watch any trailers, it gives away too much. I also heard an extended trailer is out with bunch of spoilers.
They were supposed to air episodes between feb & march 1 ep every week, maybe a double ep for the final. and then again in 2009 for the last season.
My guess is that they cant do that because of the strike :-\ so how many episodes do they have finished?
Weve waited so long I can wait a lil longer, now we get 8 episodes and then 8 episodes more later in the year, makes the wait for the next season a little less long.

i liked the hurley flash forwards..esp the one with charlie..that was great..i'm guessin 6 of them came back home (obv) and left some on the island still living. they were probably warned by the government not to ever say some living humans were left on the island & that is now getting to them.

One thing I also wondered is, you know when Naomi and that black guy were speaking in the flashback, he basically told her that nobody is alive from Oceanic 815, like everybody must believe there's no survivors but then he told Naomi to bring those 4 people there, when they were the one having strong doubts about that airplane they found under water. Doesn't make sense.

my guess would be Ben is using Sayid to protect the 'Oceanic 6' from other evil-ish people, who want to get to the island for some reason or another. the girl Sayid was banging was probably working for one of the people that wants to get there. obviously the only way they would be able to get there would be to capture someone like jack/hurley/whoever and try and get it out of them.. Ben doesnt want anyone to get there, and he's using Sayid to achieve that
my other guess is also that Miles doesn't talk to dead people.. he's time travelling. all these orientation tapes we see with Marvin Candle (black and white, colour, has both arms, then is missing one..) is Miles going back in time, realises the 'disaster' still happens, goes back in time again to try and correct it, etc.. until they finally come up with the computer that they need to push the buttons on every 108 minutes. evidence of the 'time travelling' could be the picture from episode 4x02, where you see the frame on the wall (a picture of eko?), he goes up.. talks to the ghost or whatever, comes back down and the frame of the picture has changed

the orientation movies are the movies locke/eko/etc found and were watching, which explains about the hatches they found. marvin candle (among other names) is the asian dude in the movies who was missing one arm in one of them

Because you get the impression that they have not long been past the '3 years ago' thing because jin has really only just come back into the show so obviously he was not just half dead for the 3 years on sea until the french people found him so im guessing in island time, that is pretty recent. the plane crashed in September 2004, they have been stranded on the island for around 110 days, so the people on the Island are in early 2005. i don't know if the time skips will affect the date or not.
the O6 will be in 2008. i think.

well, dont forget that the island was also jumping around through time. for all we know, the island is time jumped through to 2008. while we are not seeing what happened over the actual 3 years where the O6 had left, more than likely this is what will happen. the writers might also make some shit up, like when the light flashes etc they are "suspended" in time for however long, eventually that equates to the 3 years passed
also a lil glitch i notice is that if widmore is watching the tunisia island exit and saw locke coming...he set a freighter to the island to capture ben, ben exited to tunisia (where widmore is supposedly watching) and got off scott free, widmore aint do shit then lol

when you think about it, this has been planned for a while. the person imitating locke is the smoke monster, who can only turn into people who are dead AND on the island
- turns into christian, and convinces locke he needs to die
- turns into alex when she's dead to convince ben to follow locke
- locke is the new leader, so christian makes locke leave the island to die (as he cant die on island), and then the body is returned
- turns into locke to get to jacob
- "locke" knowing ben uses his frustration and anger to kill jacob
- alex had to be killed or ben wouldve never followed locke
- this would never have happened unless Widmore sent the commandos in which means he too has been manipulated (kicked off the island?)
- even the selection of Locke as The Others leader had been manipulated. Richard told Jack he didn't see anything special in Locke, but Jack convinced him to keep trying.
- ben's selection as leader could have been manipulated, since jacob never met ben or talked to him directly etc

Back in season 3 Ben said to Richard to take the others to the temple, and hide there (because Widmores ship was on its way).
Cindy (the stewardess) and the two kids Zach and Emma were with them (as they were in last weeks episode)..
And about the guy with the glasses, I don't remember seeing him before. The actor is the brother from eastbound and down.

in LOST, the separate point is when the bomb is set off in 1977 (what we know as the incident). when they set that bomb off, it split the timeline so we have two possibilities;
1. the bomb did stop "the incident", the island was sunk and oceanic 815 never crashed
2. the bomb was "the incident", and the 815 survivors were sent back into 2007 with fLocke, sun, ben and the rest of those temple clowns

ethan took claire, did some tests, she escaped back to the camp and they eventually killed ethan
towards the end of season 4 claire goes with locke's camp to the barracks, that gets attacked, so claire + aaron, sawyer and miles head back to the beach to be with jack's camp. they're all asleep, claire sees her dad in the jungle, wanders off and leave sawyer with aaron. sawyer eventually bumps into kate in the jungle, gives her aaron and goes with jack to rescue hurley (who's with locke)
after the freighter blows up and team jack make it back to the helicopter then crash and survive on penny's boat .. kate decides to keep aaron

I'm still thinking they're gonna pull a trick on us and end up developing a motion picture aka Lost movie.That would be dope to answer everything but I doubt it
because in seasons 1, 2 & 3 the survivors on the island weren't already seeing dead people, there wasn't already a 'black smoke monster' or a group of others on the island who were like ninjas

yeah it was a dope episode, havent had internet accesss since i downloaded it to commentlove stories are weak though..LOST is very creative, unique and well written and if it ends up a complete love story, i hate to admit it but it'd kinda' be sappy, typical and very hollywood-ish
i knew lost would end up being a love story.. but if they start throwing random ppl together in the last couple of episodes i'm going to kill somebody
other than that i think it'll be interesting to see what desmond has to say to fLocke

Jesus you guys really must be watching a different show to me. I've literally told all of my friends that this season has been awful and like the last 3 episodes I have absolutly no clue what is happening. Alternate timelines? Where did that idea spring up from? If you're telling me that is what JJ Abrams had in mind when he first wrote the show then I don't believe you. I think this show has ironically become 'lost' in itself and actually think they probably never planned to end it because they figured it would get axed or someshit before it was over. Surly we've already seen this episode before, Desmond is my constant, Fariday wrote in his book. This last episode was nothing new. Its so weak. I expected so much more.
Absolutely great, 40 mins went by in a second. It was emotional, had tons of action, in sync with the story line...the perfect episode

Finale was nice and they definitely went the easiest route, but way to piss people off with all those unanwered loose ends.
