the numbers plays a big part in the an episode this season, and all that comes clear before this seasons end

the thing that makes the strange mechanical noise/rips trees out of the ground is the black smoke, if you look in a few episode of season 2, you will see hear the noises and see the smoke

the radio message came from the french chick, who had it on repeat for 16 years from the tower

the others in the rosseau's crew were scientists who she killed

the island is somewhere in the south pacific (6hrs out of sydney)

the ppl in the woods are the same "others" that are on the island

walt & michael went home, although they haven't confirmed that yet, there will be a follow up episode this season or next season, provided they can get the guy who played michael to sign a contract

and to elaborate on this answer, if I may, then go back and watch season 2 (I believe it was), if you don't trust the watcher.. In some episodes we see the big bearded guy being one of the others in the woods, and we later (season 2 finale) learn that his beard was fake, as well as his old dirty clothes.. So the whole "the others are freaks in the woods who have gone insane" theory was disproved back then, since it all clearly was an act by them.. and in the season 3 opener we learn that the others actually are very civilized, with houses and electronic divices.. we also see Ethan with them, so that just clarifies it even more..

I am one of the fans that don't need all the answers right away, and just like Mac 10 in here said; I like the show for its mysteries.. But with that said, it would still be wrong to accuse them of not answering anything.. Some big stuff have been answered (why the plane crashed, does the outside world still exist, what happened to Clair when she was abducted etc.) and some minor stuff can be found in various episodes (like in the last jack episode, we found out that the others don't kill the kidnapped people and children, but instead apparently make them a part of their society)..

You certain about that?

I mean the "others" to me were like savages, etc. You know people who lived actually in the woods. Not the people who we see now, living in actual houses, etc.

Of course they are the same...the "Savages" were lead by the bearded guy "TOM" - who is now shown as a sub level character of the civilsed society...the whole people in the woods and running around between the stations taking people was designed to intimidate and keep away those that the island society didnt want...

imma be real, i was kinda critical of series 2....i felt like the dharma bullshit with them always being in the hatch and shit kinda lost focus and shit....and i also did not like the idea of them settling and not tryna find ways to leave the island...get help or whatever...you know like they built the raft and shit and now they like seem to think fuck it....but truth be told.....to me, lost is still a dope series....its great infact....series 1 was ahead of its time, it was some fresh ass shit....

to me, heroes is a great and shit, but to me its like a comic version of 4400...i dunno mang, i aint dissing the show cuz it is dope but to me since i aint huge on comics and dont collect no comic books or nuttin....to me lost>heroes.....but both are dope

and i am still interested in lost!.....i just aint diggin the whole tryna always make that jack cat always look like his some perfect bad ass nigga, jack be trying to hard, i think he be fuckin the producers mang,lol

not until the writers/whatever confirm it, but i'm pretty certain

#1 is Tom, the guy in the beard, who we found out was fake etc
#2 is Ethan, who was made to look like a savage/killing machine or whatever, and he was with the others
#3 in episode #9, the camera focuses in on the teddybear the children are holding, the same teddybear the children are holding in season 2, when eko & jin are hiding in the forest?

There's a rumour that there are 'other' others - I don't believe that all the people we saw walking around in the forest are the same guys living in the village and working on the Alcratraz island.

In fact, I read an interview with one of the producers in which they said: "There are things in the jungle that are far more frightening than the others or the monster."

I dont really even watch this show anymore, only if i have no other options on a wednesday night.....but decent episode last night

everytime they capture one of the "others"..... they should just torture him until he reveals all the secrets. Sayid is a professional torturer, they could end the series in one episode. Instead they drag it on forever........but at least now we know what happened to everyone with the Dharma Initiative.
