Nov 2 - New Yukmouth Interview

WorldWideConnected.com: What have you been up to since we last spoke?

Shit, recording on my album “Million Dollar Mouth Piece” and recording on the mixtape “Million Dollar Mixtape”.

WorldWideConnected.com: Allright. So can you tell me a little bit about the Million Dollar Mixtape?

The Million Dollar Mixtape is gonna have what… Young Jeezy on it. Kanye, Julez Santana, Mac Dre, Lil Flip, Z-Ro, Screwed Up Click, The Regime… shit… C-Bo, Tha Realest, Eastwood… I mean it’s gonna be off the mothafuckin system, man. It’s a mothafuckin double disc mixtape, man. So I’m getting you something to ride to before I drop Million Dollar Mouth Piece in March 28th. The mixtape drops November 19th.

WorldWideConnected.com: So the mixtape’s setting up for the album or what?

Exactly! I got about six joints from the album on the mixtape so shit they get a lot of my album. Not just my mixtape but they also get a lot of my album.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok so how about the album…

We gonna keep the album on the lid. Top Secret. It’s still in the works. I’ve got a lot of shit still putting together. I guarantie Lil Flip is gonna be on it and shit the whole Rap-A-Lot Mafia of course. Z-Ro… we’re looking for Lil Wayne. Probably Julez Santana… Juvenile, Bun B, Face, Devin The Dude… So it’s gonna be real scary ya know what I mean. I’ve got a lot of my town n’ggaz; Too $hort, Suga Free, Dru Down, The Regime… I mean it’s gonna be a double album power-packed with hits.

WorldWideConnected.com: Oh so it’s a double disc album?

Oh I owe ‘em that! I took a two year break you know with UGA, Thug Lordz and shit… Right now I’ve got to pay for it. I’m giving them a double disc mixtape and a double disc album.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. Who’s on the production on the album?

I’m getting down with Mike Dean… Dame Grease… Probably getting some shit from Jazze Pha… I fuck with a lot of underground people so there are a lot of underground producers that nobody heard of that’s got fat beats. So it’s gonna be a lot of shit like that… Oh and I’m getting a Rick Rock track…

WorldWideConnected.com: When you record a track, do you plan what project it’s for before you go in the booth and record it or do you decide afterwards what to put the track on?

I plan shit out. “This is for the mixtape. This is for my album. This is for the Regime album.” We plan shit out. I don’t just record songs for no purpose, for no reason.

WorldWideConnected.com: I guess it might be early to say, but do you have a planned first single for the album?

Naw. I ain’t got the first single on the mixtape. I ain’t gonna release that just yet. I got the street warmers on there. I got one called “Roll the dice”, I got one called “I am back” featuring Julez Santana… I got Young Skrilla, Monsta Ganjah… I got a couple joints in there but not the actual joint.

WorldWideConnected.com: Are you working on a Luniz album aswell?

Yeah right after this, man. Me and Numb been talking it over and shit and I accepted but I told this n*gga “I got so much shit on my plate” so shit… that’s what it is. And C-Bo just got out of jail so me and him is talking about doing a new Thug Lordz album, so…

WorldWideConnected.com: Oh so you’re doing another Thug Lordz album?

Yea I got a lot of shit on my plate. I got Regime, Thug Lordz to The Luniz and to my shit… and the movie shit that I’m doing. I got a deal with Emish entertainment so I’m putting out DVDs straight to Blockbuster. Documentaries, movies, comedy series... I’m doing all that shit, man. A lot of shit on my plate right now.

WorldWideConnected.com: You started planning for the movies? Do you know what your next film’s gonna be about for example?

Yeah. First I’m starting out with a comedy series with Shawn Harris, Robin Harris nephew. We’re doing a comedy series “The legends of comedy” dedicated to all the fallen legends that passes… The people that past, but at the same time pay tribute to them with the new young artists. Not artists, but young new comedians, ya know? Each one is gonna do like an act in tribute to their favourite fallen comedian. So it’s the legends of comedy, man. We’re doing a series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Different people hosting it. Cat Williams, B Ray… I mean it’s going down, man. I’m doing a lot of fucking things right now.

WorldWideConnected.com: Yeah and you just dropped a porn movie too…

Oh yeah. “Yukmouths big booty stallions”. Don’t forget I’m in the porn shit right now. I’m just hosting it, though, I ain’t acting in it. Get it right, man. I’m just doing the Snoop Dogg thing. I mean they’re paying, man… They’re paying a n’gga to get up in that mothafucka hosting it and get on a couple songs and if they wanna pay a n’gga for that then hey I’m with it. It’s just an other form of getting paid, man. I got a couple of new joints coming out. Look out for the TT Boy joint. I got Big Butt Bounce that me and The Regime is on that, and then I got Brown and Round orgy going on. I can not stop right now!

WorldWideConnected.com: How do you manage to give all these project time?

Basically I get every project its space. The main rideout of an album or a project is 2 to 3 months unless you put hella marketing and promotion and stretch the singles and the other shit, but if you don’t do that, you know… So I give every project room to breath. I give every project 2 to 3 months to breath and then I release another one.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. How about United Ghettos of America 3?

That too! I’m doing that too right now. The all female edition… United Ghettos Eye Candy. Shit, I’m doing a lot of things… You reminding me of shit I got!

WorldWideConnected.com: So right now you got the mixtape and the album… and the Regime album.

Exactly, and The Regime mixtape, man, so I’ve got a lot of shit on my table… and my solo-artists shit. It’s crazy, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Do you have a release date for The Regime project?

Nah not at the moment, man. But believe it’s gonna be fire. We’re doing one project at a time. My shit is next so when we finish the Million Dollar Mixtape we’ll go into the studio and start on All Out War 3 and then finish up the Million Dollar Mouth Piece. Everything’s got to have its dedicated time. If you try to do everything at once, everything isn’t gonna have its proper time and it ain’t gonna be done right. It’ll just sound like a bunch of garbage. So if you concentrate on each project at each time you’ll get the best out of everybodys work ethic.

WorldWideConnected.com: You mentioned solo albums from Regime artists. Who’s about to drop?

Yung Skrilla’s about to drop a solo. Marc Sheist, Dru Down… We’re about to drop Dru Down shit right after we drop Skrilla… Drop The Regime shit… “Attack season”… Young Dru… That’s my Bay Area artist. He’s caucasian. It’s a lot of mothafuckas.

WorldWideConnected.com: How involved are you in those solo projects?

I’m deeply involved, man. I’m at every studio session and make sure shit goes down right.

WorldWideConnected.com: They’re all dropping on your label, right? One of your two labels atleast…

Oh yeah and me and Dru Down got a joint venture… Oh and Amp Pachino! Amp Pachino’s dropping a solo album too called Poltergeist. Dru Down got a joint venture with me, Pimp On Records/Godzilla Entertainment/Smoke-A-Lot Records and I got a joint venture with Amp Pachino called Family First Entertainment/Smoke-A-Lot Records. I’m just doing joint ventures with my homies and shit. Helping them get to the level they need to get, ya know?

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. I don’t think you mentioned Kenny Kingpin.

Oh Kenny I don’t know what he’s doing. Look out for what he’s doing. Whatever he do he do it. He’s not my artist he’s doing his own thing.

WorldWideConnected.com: Oh so he’s not signed to Smoke-A-lot?

Naw naw naw.

WorldWideConnected.com: But he’s in The Regime though, right?

Yep.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. We interviewed Monsta Ganjah over a year back and I was kinda wondering what he’s up to… I mean first of all he’s involved in The Regime projects, right?

Yeah Ganjah’s definitely involved, he’s all on the Regime project. We’re just working on Vol 3 trying to get his name out there. He’s also working on a project with the Booya TRIBE. So yeah he’s all on the Regime album and I’m trying to get his buzz out there and drop a solo album.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. So we heard about the Spider incident before. What’s your relationship with him right now?

I got no relationship with nobody at G-Unot. Me and Game is cool but he ain’t part of that shit. I don’t fuck with the G-Unot.

WorldWideConnected.com: Is it true that J Stone was kicked out of The Regime because of that incident?

Yeha that’s true.

WorldWideConnected.com: So you won’t be working with him at all?

No.

WorldWideConnected.com: What’s the situation with Gonzoe? Is he still in The Regime?

We had a little problem. We had a little fallout for a minute and you know we just now came to an agreement. It was just a little misunderstanding, ya know. Hopefully we can still do business together. From what it looks like, he’ll probably be on the next Regime joint.

WorldWideConnected.com: Speaking of beefs. There were some disses thrown between you and Daz…

Who?

WorldWideConnected.com: Daz Dillinger.

Oh yeah. I don’t know where that came from. He saw my DVD and got offended and shit, that was an other n’gga speaking bad on em. How you gonna do that when JT was talking on him on the DVD. Handle your business. Be a grown man don’t take it out on the internet. You know he took it out on me on the internet so I retaliated and strike back. We’re in the middle of squashing that too. I mean Kurupt is my homeboy, my brother… We’re in the middle of squashing that too.

WorldWideConnected.com: So that’s basically gonna be squashed because of The Doggpound reuniting?

Right. Exactly. Kurupt is back there and Snoop’s talking to him. All that beef shit is solving. The beef shit is bullshit. You got a bunch of n*ggaz at eachothers throats on the same coast… It ain’t back in the day when people used to just rap against eachother. It ain’t the same. N*ggaz try to beat up eachother and kill eachother so it ain’t the same, ya feel me?

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok. So now you don’t have beef with anyone on the West Coast any more?

Only dude. Only Spider Loc.

WorldWideConnected.com: You were gonna release a video tape of The Game as a male stripper. So that’s not gonna come out now?

Naw I ain’t gonna do that to the kid. We squash that shit and I respect that. I ain’t gonna do nothing like that. If somebody else got the tape then they didn’t get it from me. I heard ya’ll put out some shit that people got the tape from me but I don’t do shit like that, man. If I squash the beef with somebody, that’s what it is. I’m a man of my word. I don’t backstab and shit.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok…

DOMINO! … Excuse me I’m playing domino at the same time, haha.

WorldWideConnected.com: Haha yeah I saw some new footage on your website where you were playing Domino…

Yeah man I play domino at the studio. I’m the domino master. I’m murdering these n*ggaz on domino, man. Take it from the pictures.

WorldWideConnected.com: Do you think it’s important to network and connect with the artists and everything at the studio and not just record all the time?

Oh definitely, man. Feel the artists out and see what personality they have.

WorldWideConnected.com: I heard you’re gonna sell some new stuff at the Smoke-A-Lot website… Some new shirts and whatnot.

Yeah I got some new shit up there for the females, yaddadamean. I got the new Million Dollar Mixtape campaign with the “Get rich or die snitching” shirts. Everything’s good, man. Get the “get rich or die snitching” shirt and the females got some shit up in there too. So all the Regime queens out there go to smokealotrecords.com online and order some shit.

WorldWideConnected.com: Allright. Do you have any plans on how many volumes of All Out War you’re gonna release?

All Out War’s forever, man. We’re at war with these n*ggaz. It’s All out mothafuckin war. These n’ggaz got a mothafuckin problem, man, straight the fuck up.

WorldWideConnected.com: I haerd JT’s doing something with J Prince?

Yeah I heard something about that.

WorldWideConnected.com: Is that something you’re gonna be a part of?

Nah, I don’t think so man. I got my own distribution deal with Rap-A-Lot. I don’t need to be a part of JT’s deal.

WorldWideConnected.com: But I think what he’s got is gonna be called Rap-A-Lot West…

He’s doing the president thing of that. Shit, that’s just a situation where he’s bringing new artists from the west to Rap-A-Lot. It ain’t got nothing to do with me. I’m still signed to Rap-A-Lot and I got my distribution deal with Rap-A-Lot so… That’s as far as new west coast artists… I’m an OG man I been at this shit for a minute.

WorldWideConnected.com: Yeah but I was just thinking that Smoke-A-Lot to me seems to be Rap-A-Lot West…

It is! It basically is! I’m the only artist on Rap-A-Lot that’s on the West Coast. I AM Rap-A-Lot West. No matter who n*ggaz get in positions. Yukmouth IS Rap-A-Lot West. I mean I send out my congratulations to JT and to Rap-A-Lot… JT is a hustler and I’m a hustler. It’s the same type of move. I respect that. Straight up.

WorldWideConnected.com: Do you work with the other Rap-A-Lot artists a lot or do you do your own thing?

I work with Face and all of them n’ggaz, man. Devin The Dude, Bun B, Juvenile, UTP… Everybody at the label fuck with me. I ain’t the outcast, I ain’t the black sheep. Everybody love Yukmouth. In fact Bushwick Bill is on the new mixtape. Bun B was gonna be on it but he’s on the road promoting his own shit. So yeah everybody fuck with me at Rap-A-Lot, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Rap-A-Lot was taking it easy for a while and now they’re releasing a lot of albums. I mean you’re releasing the Z-Ro album, Bun B, your album, Geto Boyz and there’s other albums coming like the Scarface and Makaveli album. Is that a strategic move?

Man why not. I mean not to release them at one time but month after month and let everything breath. But I mean why now? It’s a different market for a different album.

WorldWideConnected.com: Yeah but I mean…

I mean if you would drop the Bun B album a week ahead of my shit he ain’t gonna stop my sales and I ain’t gonna stop his sales.

WorldWideConnected.com: I was thinking as if you’re taking over the game…

Me I’m taking over the game. I do more than music that’s deeper than music. I mean I’m looking through a whole other view that n’ggaz don’t even know yet. I mean people are just now catching up. I been doing the DVD’s. I’m on my third volume, man. N*ggaz just now do their first DVD and put it in the package with their album, man. I been done that shit early, yaddadamean! I’m doing mixtapes now on the West Coast. N*ggaz been doing that shit on the East Coast but West Coast n*ggaz ain’t doing it. My shit’s still on the shelves, man. My shit ain’t in the hiphop street stores, the bootleg stores. My shit’s on the shelves next to Young Jeezy and all that shit. I took the mixtape game to a whole different level, AND I’m getting incredible numbers. I ain’t even gonna touch that but I’m getting numbers that n*ggaz would never get off a mixtape. I’m getting album numbers on a mixtape, I’mma put it like that. What they make out an album I damn near make that out the mixtape. So my hustle is strong and superb, man. And it’s deeper than music, straight up!

WorldWideConnected.com: Were you surprised by the success of All Out War?

I expected it. They’ve been waiting for it. I mean we’ve been touching this mob for damn near 7 years since 97-98. We’ve been pressing this line on every one of my albums, a couple Techn9ne albums. We’ve been touching this line so it’s time to materialize and let everybody see what we’re coming with. Once we hit them with the mixtape it was like “Oh it’s not just Yuk and them on one song, it’s the whole picture. The whole picture’s painted now. I could believe what them n*ggaz was saying on that one song per album. I see where these n*ggaz come from. I can feel their pain now.” Ya feel me? They accepted us and we’re about to give them some more. This is just the beginning, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Cool. Is there any project that we didn’t mention yet that you’re working on?

Oh shit…. I think I mentioned everything I’m working on. Everything I’m working on you told about it. That’s what I’mma rock with.

WorldWideConnected.com: Are you doing a lot of shows?

Aw man I stay doing shows. I’m about to go overseas in December over to Germany. I go there atleast once a year… and back to Amsterdam, hahaha ya feel me? I’m just doing my thing, man. I feel like it’s 95 but it’s 2005.

WorldWideConnected.com: You seem real busy. Do you have time for anything but Smoke-A-Lot?

Man I do it all. I barely got time for my family. Sometimes I just work at the studio so late I don’t even make it home. Shit’s crazy. You know at the studio falling asleep on the couch but it’s nice like that. That’s how dedicated I am to my work. Get shit done.

WorldWideConnected.com: Are you gonna appear on the Scarface and Makaveli album?

Most likely. I’ll probably be on the next couple of Pac projects… You never know, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Allright.

I’m definitely on the new Lil Flip album coming out. Check me out in this new video. I mean you’ve seen me on the ill cameo. That’s your boy Yuk.

WorldWideConnected.com: What’s the name of the song?

The song’s called “What it do” so look out for me on Flips new video “What it do”. Wherever they play that video, look for ya n*gga when he go on the crowd at the party scene.

WorldWideConnected.com: Are there any other guest appearances that we can look for that you’ve been doing recently?

Naw I’ve just been chilling. I’ve been doing my shit and The Regime, but I’ll fuck with anybody. You gonna hear about it.

WorldWideConnected.com: I saw you say in a magazine that you’re the underground king of the West Coast.

I am. Who do you know doing more shit than me?

WorldWideConnected.com: But the question is if you say you’re the underground king and not the king, who do you think is the king of the West Coast?

Naw naw. Dr Dre is the fucking king. Hands down. I’m the West Coast Don. Pac was the Don and Pac handed the crown to me. I’m the fucking West Coast Don. I don’t wanna be the king, yaddadamean? Dr Dre is the king and hat’s proven. Not Snoop, not Game. Dr Dre. Anything with that n*gga Dr Dre stamped on it is tipple platinum and doing its thing, so that’s the king. So I’m the Don. I ain’t the capo, I ain’t the underboss, I’m the Don. When it comes to boss shit, when it comes to hustling, I’m that n*gga. I ain’t the n*gga at the mothafuckin award show with the khakis on. I’m there with the thizzle joints on, the ill jewlery. I’m the Don, man! I’m doing Don shit! I ain’t doing the average West Coast shit. That’s why I’m the Don, man. I switch vehicles like I switch clothes. I got different jewlery to match with my outfit, man. Any outfit I wear I’m like “I’mma rock the mothafuckin platinum today” or “Naw I’mma rock the yellow gold with the yellow stones”, ya feel me? I’m a Don, man! A lot of n*ggaz ain’t even on this shit. Why I say that? Man I been drinking Moet and Don Perignon and Cristyle since 94-95. I been out there on the East Coast with Biggie and them and I brought that shit back to the West Coast… Even Alize. N*ggaz used to call it Alí-ze. Head-bands and bandanas. The list goes on. I brought that style to LA, man! I been rockin’ that shit since 94-95, man. That’s why I say I’m a Don, man. I’m a fucking trendsetter. The whole LA is dressing like me right now. The whole Bay Area is dressing like me. N*ggaz wasn’t wearing timboots and saggy jeans and jerseys and shit, ya feel me? I been poppin bottles when Moet was costing 19 dollars, and then since n*ggaz be talking that shit on that hiphop shit they’re like 50 dollars right now! They used to be 19 dollars, hella cheap. Don Perignon was 50 dollars and the Cristyle was 100 dollars, man. That’s where I come from! That’s why I’m a Don, man! I been in this game for 10 years and I’m still standing like I just went platinum yesterday. That’s why I’m a Don. It’s a lot of things.

WorldWideConnected.com: Ok.

There’s a lot of n*ggaz that came out at the same time I came out, and they ain’t nowhere to be found! Where these n*ggaz at? I’m still in it! That’s why I’m a Don! That’s Don shit, ya feel me?

WorldWideConnected.com: Yeah so when you start doing shit like with the mixtapes on the West Coast I guess that wasn’t a bgi thing…

I started the DVD’s, man! After my shit, people started making their own little DVDs. I kicked that shit off, man. “United Ghettos of America” was out before 50 Cent album was out and that’s when he had a DVD but I been having my DVD’s out there, man. I mean c’mon!

WorldWideConnected.com: Do you take it like a compliment or do you think they should come up with stuff of their own?

Naw I take it as I’m the Don and they follow what I do. I’m the leader and you follow me. Straight up. I take it like them n’ggaz be giving me props. They thinking they just bite but they’re giving me props by biting my business tactics. You’re biting how I handle my shit and that’s good! That’s how you’re letting me know you’re all over my shit. You might not rap and say my name or let the fans know you listen to Yukmouth or watch this DVD but you let me know, so I’m good. Down low that n*gga’s feeling it. Straight up, and I’m happy with that.

WorldWideConnected.com: I heard about that Bay Area thing…

It was a Bay Area rap awards. That shit just passed. That was real live and real big.

WorldWideConnected.com: So you were there then.

Ofcourse. I performed. Me and Numbskull performed. It was live. A lot of awards went to my homie Mac Dre and it was a beautiful thing.

WorldWideConnected.com: Like you said before you’ve been in the rap game for 10 years. Where do you see yourself in another 10 years?

Shit I see myself in the backround more, not even rapping. Just taking care of my artists and doing my movie thing. Producing a lot of tight productions… DVDs, documentaries, comedies and take care of n*ggaz in the hood that were just like me when I started rapping. Putting them out, ya know? Shit, just doing my thing, man. I got my clothing line. Godzilla clothing will be up and running by then, ya know? Trying to get 100 million a year like a big clothing company.

WorldWideConnected.com: So Godzilla Clothing is in the works?

The T-Shirts are just the beginning. T-Shirts, jackets… The Regime shirts and shit. That’s just the beginning, man. I’m gonna be rockin a full line and shit.

WORD ASSOCIATION

WorldWideConnected.com: Hurricane Katrina

Whoooo shit. Man… A wake-up for everybody to pay attention to who’s leading the country, what they care about and what they do for people who need help in their own country. Wake-up call.

WorldWideConnected.com: I heard that J Prince did a lot of things…

WorldWideConnected.com: Fat Joe

Oh shit. The Homie, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Lil Flip

WorldWideConnected.com: How’d you hook up with him?

Shit I been fuckin with Flip since his first album. He came out here fuckin with C-Bo. C-bo fuckin with me… You know we just coped after that. Bo introduced us and from there we’ve been kickin’ it.

WorldWideConnected.com: Devin The Dude

Oh my smoke buddy. Coffee brother.

WorldWideConnected.com: I heard you’re performing a lot with him.

Yeah me and Devin the Dude had a lot of shows together. You can see it on UGA one and two, haha. We got a couple performances and shit but yeah we stay doing shows together, man. He’s managed by my homeboy from my hood, Mico, so that’s mainly the reason…

WorldWideConnected.com: Who are you gonna bring with you to Europe?

A couple of Regime members. Monsta Ganjah, Skrilla... On the road from December 9th. Passport stamped the fuck up, yaddadamean! We international, man. We got n’ggaz out there with Regime tattoos, Dragon tattoos, man. Regime tatted across their stomachs. We world wide, man. I don’t go out there and see no mothafuckin G-unit tattoos or no No Limit tank tattoos. I see dragons, man, so I’m convinced. It’s a world wide movement, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: Yeah what do you think about that? I’ve seen pictures showing their dragon tattoos…

It’s a movement, man! Any Regime members get initiated in blood that’s why we got the dragon tattoo. The fans initiate their selves, haha, and they get their own tattoo just to say they down with it. Anybody who initiate with that we recognize em and we give em love too. We know who the click is, who the generals is and soldiers. We know who the mob is and who the fans are.

WorldWideConnected.com: Monsta Ganjah

My best friend.

WorldWideConnected.com: Bushwick Bill

Very intelligent guy.

WorldWideConnected.com: Bun B

That’s my Rap-A-Lot OG, man.

WorldWideConnected.com: What do you think of the album?

Oh man I ain’t heard the whole shit but from what I’ve heard of it that shit is amazing, man! That shit is off the mothafuckin hook! I love it, man. It’s gonna take Rap-A-Lot to a whole other level. It’s gonna open up doors and not just for him.

WorldWideConnected.com: Last word is yourself, Yukmouth.

The mothafuckin West Coast Don! Yukdibiatzy, man! Million Dollar Mouth Piece. Straight up!

WorldWideConnected.com: Anything else you wanna say before we wrap this up?

Look. All them haters out there, all them internet mothafuckas that was on that Spider Loc shit. All over his dick when that shit came out, yeah my shit about to come out now n*gga and I ain’t takin’ no interviews from none of ya’ll faggot ass mothafuckas. Fagget! So fuck all of ya’ll fake ass internet riders, internet interviewers, internet filmers and whatever they doing! Fuck em all, n*gga! I still got more money than them and Spider Loc put together. Holla back!

:o yuk is doin it big

side note: good to see him say dre is the king of the west
