Doggystyle will never be short of tight beats with BC, Fredwreck and Jelly Roll.  It's just too bad Meech Wells has bounced.

What I think Snoop needs to do is cut the roster down to 10 heads or fewer, like Dre has done with Aftermath.  He's got too many people on that label, and doesn't know what to put out.

Peace

Why Dr dre gives beats to mack 10 and others but don't give a fuck about eastsidaz, bad azz and co.?
Snoop "must be" on every dre album,on every aftermath project, but dre don't give a fuck about snoop's label, and its sad.

Unfortunately Jelly roll isn't on doggystyle records, same thing for scott torch.....but they're down with snoop, but i can't understand why snoop insists to use battlecat so much.

I agree with Incognito, snoop needs to cut his roster....use more soopafly behind the boards instead of battlecat.

I still don't get all of this hype behind Dre. He's okay but his beats are more boring than Battlecat's to me. I haven't liked anything Dre has produced since ''Lay Low'', but Battlecat came correct on ''You ain't fuckin' with me'' off of ''Genesis''. Snoop needs to use Soopafly and Jellyroll more, and possibly even Daz & Quik. That's just my opinion tho.

when i first started to listen battlecat beats cuz of the hype of him, i use to think why the fuck every rapper out their thinks his beats be dope?? but then i started to listen more of him n now i just love his beats, his shits consistant n addictive as fuck n i like the way its his own style instead of biting some nxts man style, n plus he got funk on his beats. id rather have battlecat any day over someone whos major hyped like timbaland for any west coast albums.
but yeah doggystyle needs to cut down abit n so they can spend more time promotin the few cats they have in my opinion

peace

dogghouse has one of the best production crews in rap music, and have a couple of entertaining rappers, and could easily get ANNNNNNNNYONE they want on their records (i.e anyone from someone as underground as alchemist and mobb deep to pop rap dudes like ja rule and everyone in between)

BUT i wouldn't say they are the most innovative, i mean they bring a whole new sound to the whole cheesy computerised simplistic irv gotti shit

They bring something new... funk... it really took off with Chronic, Doggystyle and G-Funk Era... its the funk... since then it's gone... Dre doesn't produce funky much anymore... however Snoop and his crew is dropping it. Thats my point. The only other mainstream crew I can think that brings funk is Outkast/Dungeon Family ... and to be honest, I love their shit. Yea it may not be accepted from the media, but fuck the media. Kokane Hooks, Suga Free verses and Battlecat beats, now tell me, who wouldn't wanna listen to that shit. Suga Free is dope with one-liners and shit, he's the only mutha fucka that makes me laugh during a rap song. Snoop is getting laid back and shit, I respect that, he's only creating... doing what he feels... why bring what everyone else is. Instead bring some G-Funked out music and let me relax to that shit, or put it in my ride while I hit the intersection while the fool next to me wonders what the fuck I'm listening to... listening to DOGGHOUSE MUTHA FUCKING RECORDS... if you aint down, youz a clown... so funky it makes you say ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

To be honest with you, there are cats like Redman and Epmd that bring the funk on every album, dipends what you mean for funk.
Now Fred wreck "comes out" with the Electro funk(nothing new),personally i still believe that Epmd are the shit regard funk and hip hop music.
