Schooly D appreciation thread
« on: December 01, 2008, 06:06:02 AM »

I came over a Schooly D mix-tape on
http://beatsandblood.blogspot.com/2008/11/best-schoolly-d-mix-ever.html ...
So I figured why not a Schooly D appreciation thread?  ;)

Schooly D's Out Cold (2008)

Schooly D'S Out Cold (2008) mixtape (235MB megaupload)
Here's the;
Schooly D's Out Cold tracklist

I've been a fan of his since day one,I recently browsed through his discography to pick out tracks to put on my cell/MP3 player.
It's been a while since I bumped his shit,and must admit some off his shit sounds a little dated.
I mean he got his classics that stood the test off time... no question he got some bonafied classics.
But for the most part,most wasn't as good as I remembered it.  :P

Anyway what y'all think off him?

Storch must have had some connection to the Philly scene.
I assumed he was from Philly,since he played with The Roots and all... but I checked Storch´s wikipedia... well,it don't mention Philly.

Damn right.

His first two albums are my favourites (come to think of it I still have the first one on vinyl as well as that 12" of Parkside 5-2), Saturday Night and I Don't Like Rock N Roll (there's even a video for that) are my favourite Schoolly-D songs.

Schoolly was one of the first hip hop artists to really own his own label.
