SENE

Dubcnn is known
for breaking young and fresh talent, and this next artist is no exception. I
would like to personally present an artist by the name of Sene,
originally hailing from Brooklyn, this 20 year old New York native now finds
California as his new home. Having personally witnessed his recordings, I
honestly do not know anybody of such youth that can spit this well. Since
moving to California, Sene has made countless appearances on the show
"Breaking Atoms" on 91.9 KCSB. He has a very heavy local following, and has
caught the ears of artists such as the Stones Throw camp, The Beatnuts and
Prodigy (Mobb Deep).
Be on the lookout for Sene's new album "Brooklyn Bridges:
Musickforthapeeple" to drop this April.
You can also check Sene out at

We would like to present four Sene tracks for you to listen to today:
Sene - Moovwitmi
"Young scholar with my thought cap on / hit pause on my track, cats like
PUT THAT SONG BACK ON! / that's all I want / but I NEED it just like you / so
I treat my 16's like new white shoes / So even if ya dont love it to death /ya
still guna bump it least a couple times up in the deck"
"This was me trying to make things a little more soulful, the beat was real
relaxing, you could sit back and drink to it, smoke to it, whatever your bag
is. We threw scratches on it to mix it up a little because it felt right, a
little bit more of the b-boy element had to get thrown into it, and the
scratches sounded real smooth. They could always be better I mean, they are
scratches and people like to get picky, but we were in a session recording and
my boy JKim hopped on the turntables instead of my DJ at the time and cut it
up, and I liked how it sounded so I kept it. Sometimes that spontaneous shit
feels best."
Sene - Maintain
"I light the Peach Op(optimo) / live life till the complete stop / never
scared of badges, we police the cops"
"People always generalize my music as having a New York sound, coming to
Cali that's not always what you want. Don't get me wrong I love NY and its an
honor to be thrown in a "NY sound" category, I'm Brooklyn til death no matter
where I rest my head at, but you want people to listen no matter who you are
without thinking 'ahh that's just repping New York'. On this track I said fuck
it, you want to just label me as that and limit me to that, so that's what
I'll give you."
Sene - Coastal Warning
"I'm walking around giving pounds toastin it up / feelin the cold hit my
face while im rollin this up / dice game in full effect, all my people on deck
/makin money cause they hungry and they getting no checks / uptowns on all the
sneakers, Biggie on all the speakers / girls Northface zipped half exposin
cleavage"
"This is the first time Sinuous and I linked up on a track with just the two
of us, We go coast to coast comparing a day walking around in the 718 view to
SB 805's view and different ways it goes down."
Sene - Man Up
"And I don't even care what you heard/but my squad is set hard from the
yard to burbs/From the Bar to Curbs, Check my quotes/cause I freestyle better
than ya write/check my throat....Yea I said curb to curb/half the squads in
Northface/other half in flannel shirts"
"This song was pretty much spur of the moment, It was one of the more pop
sounding beats and I figured what a better way to hit it than on some hype
shit. I wanted it to be catchy but represent both elements of my life and
surroundings, those being east and west living, so I made sure to make a few
references about going side to side. Northface is associated with the cold
weather, all my boys rock the Face bubbles in Brooklyn, and in Cali the crews
and bangers rock flannels so I gotta show love to both."
Shouts to the original 6548 Cordoba - 35, 34, 31
