Dubcnn: Sup, mayne, how you feelin'?

Feeling good, man. What it Zoo?

Dubcnn: First things first, you recently changed your moniker from 40 Glocc to Big Bad 40 -- How come?

Since I'm breaking more into the commercial scene with this damn record and my new album, they wanted to use a name that wasn't compared to a gun or anything too negative. My name never represented a gun, it was just an acronym, but for MTV, BET and radio, (to) use Big Bad 40 was better accepted.

Dubcnn: You also recently aligned yourself with singer Ray J for the first single and video, "Damn," from your long overdue sophomore solo collection, N.W.A. (New World Agenda) -- How did this collaboration even come to fruition?

Well, I've been knowing Ray J forever, since we was younger and shit. So, you know, I decided to get him on the song. It was a hot beat, and needed some R&B flavor, and since Ray J relevant right now I throw him on the track -- Song's a banger!

Dubcnn: What actually prompted your decision to title the record: N.W.A. (New World Agenda)?

N.W.A. is 'bout introducing people to my new music, as well as exposing what's going on politically and in the world around us. People aren't in touch with the real life issues we face these days. They caught up in that dance music. I'm bringing the real back into music, and elevating the fans' minds to open they eyes to the truth, especially with the government and politics.

Dubcnn: And, why has this release been pushed back/delayed for so damn long?!

Basically, I was in the middle of getting my record deal with Fontana/Universal, which just finished up end of last year. I wanted them to distribute it, as well as give me a promo budget to push the album. I wanted to touch a fan-base that I haven't touched yet, and grab more fans before releasing the album.

Dubcnn: With that being said then, N.W.A. is not coming out on Infamous/G-Unit Records after all?

You know, G-Unit my family. I never was signed contractually with G-Unit, just affiliated. You don't need paperwork when you family. They always welcomed me, and still support me 100%! I just got back from touring with 50 on his Invitation Tour. He took me with him, and allowed me to promo the single "Damn" and "Welcome To California." It was a great look, and was greatly appreciated! We got out tens of thousands of promo CDs and shirts -- The fans were loving it! All the support was a great look, but I got my own record label, ZOOLIFE, and that's what I'm dropping the album under, my own label.

Dubcnn: Speaking of Infamous, have you kept up with Prodigy while he's away doing his bid?

P doin' real good. He should be out soon, and we getting ready to get it in! We write each other often, and he's ready to get out and go hard.

Dubcnn: What's beef? And, since as of late you've been linked to a whole bunch of it, most notably Lil Wayne, Young Buck & The Game/Menace, to name some, where does all of this actually stem from? And, where exactly are things left off with it all now?

I don't call it beef, I call it separating real from fake. These dudes claim to live this lifestyle that they know nothing 'bout, then wanna go out and teach the youth this and thinks it's cool. How you rapping 'bout shit you know nothin' 'bout? Then, acting like it's real and not just entertainment? I don't respect that shit! They suckas, and I got no respect for suckas. One minute they reppin' Crips, next minute they reppin' Bloods -- This shit ain't no game! People out here dying over colors, and they presenting to the youth like it's nothing. Like it's okay to go 'round claiming Crip or Blood, when it's not! That shit's taken real serious!

Dubcnn: What are your future plans & goals for ZOOLIFE Entertainment? And, who currently makes up the imprint's roster?

Well, you know, we real focused on pushing the N.W.A. album right now. The single with Ray J is on iTunes now. Also, request it on all local radio stations, as it's slowly spreading nationwide. And, look out for the video on MTV Jams and Music Choice. Far as artists, we got Tip Toe, Gail Gotti, Locie Loc, the Zoobabies, Village Boo, Lil Boo, Ras Kass and Sun. They all doing they thing, and are in full support of the movement! You'll find them on the album as well.

Dubcnn: You've dabbled some in the acting world, most recently in the comedy, Miss March -- Will you continue in your pursuit of the silver screen?

Yup, I stay going to auditions, and looking for that right opportunity. I like the acting.

Dubcnn: Which is it: Tory Gasaway or Lawrence White?

Tory.

[At press time, Big Bad 40 was embroiled in a legal battle with the San Bernadino County District Attorney's office regarding a pending case that was in direct violation of his First Amendment rights. Although 40 didn't want to release additional information in terms of this particular matter, he did, however, request a reprint of his original statement provided through his publicist: "My rights are being violated and somebody is lying on me. I don't have any tattoos on my chest and whoever is putting out this wrong information can come over here and take a picture. They make things up when I boast and brag and tease them in my music they find ways to punish me for not allowing them to dictate what I can and cannot do for my income and entertainment purposes."]
