Dubcnn: I just want you to start off
by introducing yourself to the fans
Alrite, my names Diktator *drops a tight freestye*
Dubcnn: How did you get into the game?
Well I started rapping when I was about 6 years old, but I started really
getting into the business when I was in 9th grade when I was 14 years old;
thats when I started getting into the studio and making tracks and putting out
CD's and stuff
Dubcnn: Damn, you were hella young
Yea, yea, yea
Dubcnn: Who were your influences when your were growing up?
When I was growing up, At the age of six it was Westside Connection but about
the 9th grade, when I was like 14 it was basically Ludacris and all them
platinum cats
Dubcnn: How old are you right now?
I'm nineteen right now
Dubcnn: Oh, your still young then
*laugh*
Dubcnn: How did you hook up with Julez Santana?
Huh?
Dubcnn: Oh, I thought you were supposed to do a project with Julez Santana
Nah man I did a project with Krazy from 504 boys.
Dubcnn: How did that go?
It went good, I did a remix called "Its Not A Fight" with 504 boys and krazy,
it was hot, real hot.
Dubcnn: Tight, I heard one of your first big shows you opened up for No Limit,
can you tell us how it is opening and warming up the crowd before the main act
goes on?
Man, its a tough job but you got to be confident in yourself, no matter what,
you know what im sayin? You gotta hit the crowd, and then your just as
important as the main act, you gotta get everybody hyped before the main act.
If you dont, the main act is gunna get mad because hes doing your job, while
hes you know what im sayin his thang.
Dubcnn: Do you feel like your getting closer to getting your chance to really
blowin up?
Oh yeah, oh yeah.
Dubcnn: So what have you been working on right now in the lab? Who have you
been working with?
Well right now I've been working with Erik Johnson, who is the producer out in
P.A, ivyleague out in Milwaukie, Sir Track.
Dubcnn: As far as artists, have you been recording with any famous or more
known rappers right now?
Yeah, right now we just did it with Krazy out of 504 boys as of right now but
urm, we have talks into having Bone Crush and Anthony Hamilton, I talked to
David Banner and all them, so were gunna really, when the people are ready and
we get everything business-wise settled, thats when were gunna go into it, but
right now im working on a major project called "The Drop".
Dubcnn: Can you tell us a little more about that project?
Yeah, It's the drop - the reason why I named it the drop is because when it
drops, its like thee drop; we kick everybody else, you know what im sayin?
Dubcnn: Yeah
So, I wanted 18, 17 bangers on it, know what im sayin'? I dont want no tracks
that people say oh I dont like this one, I dont like that one, I wanted 18
bangers on the deck. So versatile, everybody can relate to it you know what
I'm sayin? But im still going to speak out to the hood, I'ma speak out and
make tracks that everybody can relate to, thats the whole key and make sure
everybody can relate to and have different feelings about.
Dubcnn: Tight, how would you describe your sound to people that have never
heard you before, like is it crunk or gangsta?
I cant really describe my style because I feed off of myself, I mean other
rappers may use and listen to another rapper and take their style but I feed
off myself. I listen to nobody but myself when making the project so I can
come up with my own ideas, so I've got a little bit of crunk, a little gangsta
you know what im sayin? Im not trying to over bling myself to the point that
you know what im sayin, I end up like, you know, people with drama you know..
Dubcnn: Yeah, I feel you. When do you feel that you write the best songs, in
what mood do you have to be in to put the best songs out there?
Oh yeah, when I'm high *laughs*
Dubcnn: Haha, alrite. What seperates you from all these other new artists that
are on a come up?
You know what seperates me is that I'm ahead of my age and its going to be a
problem. And really I just have a style that nobody has and I believe when I
drop, it's going to be a breath of fresh air for everybody.
Dubcnn: Yeah, so are you shooting for a first single anytime soon?
Well right now I'm still working on the album, so we're going to keep the
single yea, we have ideas on whats the hottest out of them right now.
Dubcnn: Okay, any mixtapes that people can hear you on right now ?
Well, I have my underground album called "Shut it down right now" out on
www.ricashay.com - there is 21 tracks on there, 21 tracks that I produced on
there, so you know what I'm sayin', I put everything into it.
Dubcnn: I didn't know you produced too?
Well, Shut it down I produced because I had to, because I had no money
Dubcnn: Okay thats tight, just rap it up, do you have any last words for the
fans?
Yea, watch out for your boy Diktator so urm, and for all you rappers out
there, theres going to be some trouble but I ain't causing no trouble so dont
hate. And all my haters out there, I love you with motivation and to my homies
out there, keep holding me down and put the kak on my back, it's all on me
