  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dubcnn: We're right here with DJ
Whoo Kid, who's been on the road relentlessly for the past years. Where you at
  right now?

I’m in Chemnitz, Germany now, for the last 50 Cent show, we did Serbia, we
  did Finland, and before Finland I was in Morocco, Dubai, Bahrain and India;
that’s the first Hip-Hop entity in India, rocked it and before I did a Germany
tour, did like 8 cities – mad busy doing all the clubs all over the world,
before I take a break. The tour ends in China, Hong Kong. Hopefully that’s it.

Dubcnn: What have you been promoting recently, your mixtapes?

I just did the MTV Europe Awards After Party with Snoop Dogg in Denmark, so I
finished the mixtape there, the Blue Carpet Treatment Mixtape, promoting
Snoop, I did that with DJ Drama and DJ Skee. DJ Drama’s the king of the south,
I’m the king of the east and Skee's king of the west so we just provided Snoop
all of our marketing situation so there’s no stones left unturned so he gets
full promo. There’s mad exclusives, freestyles, songs off the album and on
there is one of my favourite songs; the R Kelly and Snoop song – its like the
biggest hit right now, on my show on Hot 97, I’m not even there but I know its
  getting crazy spins.

Dubcnn: Yeah that’s the hottest song right now.

Yeah, working with Snoop Dogg, he already has the Akon “I Wanna Fuck You”
song, which is a big hit too, and working with Snoop Dogg, you're working with
a international star and a one of a kind human being, so it was crazy. A lot
of smoking weed during this mixtape, but what's so hot is, DJ Skee did most of
it in the West Coast, Drama did his part in the South, and me, I don't need to
be in America to finish a CD. So they sent the master, the Pro Tools file to
me in Denmark, and I finished the CD with Snoop in Denmark. That's why in the
intro it says "I'm in Denmark bla bla bla".

Dubcnn: A lot of people were surprised to see you working with DJ Skee,
seeing that he's Game's DJ and you're 50 Cent's DJ... How did that happen?

It's like, he's a top dude, and the thing is, it's a situation that Don
Robinson hooked up, and of course Game is going to go for the top DJ of the
West Coast, so if he works with the dude [Skee], then I gotta assume he's his
DJ, but DJ Skee is his own entity. He's not like really really Game's DJ, but
for what I know, we're trying to do like a mixtape monopoly. So that's like
  really the big picture.

Dubcnn: Tell us about that whole idea, the mixtape monopoly.

It's like all of us have our own resources, we have MTV, we have AllHipHop, we
have magazines, the mixtape circuit on lock, not to mention the PR'ing and
everything else we do. Even when I get back, I'm doing MTV to promote all the
CD's I'm going, cause I'm doing Yayo's CD when I get back, and me and Drama
are doing Young Buck and Young Jeezy. It's just cool to see top DJ's combine
and do certain situations. Whatever he does with Game, it's whatever, cause he
does CD's with everybody, just like I do CD's with everybody else too. But I'm
not going to do a CD wit Ja Rule or nothing like that.

The West Coast is a totally different market that we don't even know, like
what's going on over there. So we have to leave it to somebody who knows the
whole situation and that we respect. So it's all gravy!

Dubcnn: So when is the Blue Carpet Mixtape dropping?

Oh it's out, it should be out now!

Dubcnn: You're always involved in thousands projects at the same time, how
do you keep an overview of everything you have to do?

I'm a crazy worker. This month alone my Pow TV is finished, coming out on
Koch. This one is like a on-location DVD, I got Kanye, I got all the top
rappers on there going nuts, crazy funny situations. Or I had Soda Pop TV
where Busta Rhymes' skit was like the funniest skit on that DVD. Hopefully
there's some crazy moments on the new Pow TV. But I also own a magazine called
Pow Mag, which is a combination of Hollywood and Hip-Hop. Cause I get so many
Hollywood stars that come on my show, on Shade 45, and Hot 97, so I just use
the ressources and I created a new magazine where I show how Hip-Hop affects
Hollywood and how Hollywood affects Hip-Hop. One example would be George
Clooney and T.I. on one cover. Stuff like that, that's what I'm really doing.

Dubcnn: What are the latest DJ Whoo Kid releases out right now?

The latest one you know is "Hip-Hop Is Dead", which is killing everything.
We're gonna probably do one more at the end of the year, which will probably
be his last mixtape before he goes into studio hibernation, because he's gonna
be working on his new album. Whatever the last CD is, you better enjoy it
cause he's going into super transformation. Physically, mentally and
everything. The new 50 Cent is going to be a monster. So that's what we've
been working on right now. But I'm still gonna be working with Banks and Yayo
and Buck and all the other artists on there, Mobb Deep, the whole crew. Not to
mention all the other artists out there, I got C-Murder coming out soon, I'm
working with Nate Dogg, I'm gonna do a CD with him.

  Dubcnn: How did that happen?

Just a combination of all my resources.

Dubcnn: Cause Nate Dogg has been quiet for a minute.

Yeah but it's time to get it popping! When we combine our resources like that,
it's easy access to almost anybody. So that's what we're doing.

Dubcnn: What happened to the MJ-Unit project?

Well their people are the ones that OD'd with the promo. It was supposed to be
a secret project just how I did the Biggie and 50 Cent song and the 2Pac and
50 Cent song. It was supposed to be a surprise attack where I come out with
Mike and Fif, but we're still working it out, cause what I need him to do is a
whole bunch of hooks. From what I know the hooks are done, I just gotta go get
them. So I gotta go to Bahrain -wait he's not in Bahrain anymore, he's in
Ireland. So I go to Ireland and pick up the Acapella's, really hooks. Cause
it's not like 50 is gonna be doing a duet, it's gonna be some hardcore killer
  shit.

Dubcnn: The essence of DJ'ing has been getting lost, everybody is
MP3-DJ'ing now, and you are a person people like to blame for the
commercialization of DJ'ing. What do you have to say about that?

That's because I promote myself in all fashions. I'm not just a DJ, I do like
10 different things. Plus I got a personality, I'm cool, I'm always on BET or
MTV wilding out. You just gotta really make yourself versatile for
entertainment, because you don't wanna be the DJ that nobody cares about! You
gotta show what other talents you have! That's why a lot of people like
hanging with me, because I'm just not no ordinary dude. When you tune into my
radio show, you're really having a good time, and I've heard it over and over,
they just can't believe what kind of energy they go through, because it's not
no corny interview format. It's really just you come in, and if you want to
talk about whatever you wanna talk about, you have an option. On Shade 45, you
can curse on there! So they're a little more relaxed, they talk about boning,
smoking weed, drugs. Stuff these Hollywood dudes talk about cause I got them
in a relaxed state and format.

Also, you can't be a nerdy chubby DJ. Girls don't like ugly chubby DJ's! You
gotta be decent looking, dressed cool. The thing about DJ's is, they're always
dressed weird! We're weird people! Everybody is weird in their own way, but
they never look at the DJ as the flossy going nuts kind of dude. Me, I collect
Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, and shit like that. I promote myself, when you see
me. First impression is everything. If you wanna be the chubby dirty DJ that
just stays in the studio that makes beats and practices cutting all day, then
that's what you wanna be. But I don't wanna be that DJ, I wanna be the DJ that
Paris Hilton wants to hire to do her party, or I rock concert style shows in
India, shit like that.. When they see me, they know who I am, they know my
logo, or they know Whoo Kid. I always promote Whoo Kid first, because when you
see the name, it stands for some kind of quality.

First impression is everything, I learned that from 50 Cent. I wanna be cool
enough so I look normal. I don't wanna look like a crackhead on TV! I wanna
look like a normal dude, which is what I am. I don't promote any gangsta crap,
I don't promote all that other nonsense that rappers do, you just gotta be
yourself. That's the problem, a lot of these DJ's just don't be themselves. I
be wilding out, I don't care!

Dubcnn: You have been all around the world in the past few years, tell us
some of the spots that impressed you the most and you want to go back to.

Dubai always impresses me. Being in Dubai alone is like... if you ever have
the chance to go there on a vacation, Dubai is like one the craziest places. I
never saw so many activities, there's like indoor skiing. I've never been in a
mall for more than 30 minutes. I was in that mall for six hours! I was
bowling, all these unbelievable women everywhere... What more can you ask for?
Then the parties are unbelievable, all rich people, wilding out, no shootouts,
no gangsters, everybody just coming down to have a good time and leave. So I
don't know, Dubai is probably my favorite spots that I wanna go back to, and
Bahrain. In Bahrain I have a personal relationship with them, so you know.
There's a couple of other countries, next would be Japan, Germany would
probably be after that, cause the women here can't get enough of me! There's
one in here right now! *Female voice saying Hello in background* *laughs* I
don't know man! Plus, when I DJ, I only DJ for the chicks. I don't DJ for
dudes, so... that's one thing. I ain't got time for no dudes. I'll play a
little gangsta shit for the muthafuckas, but me I'm all for the ladies, that's
  it.

Dubcnn: Did you have any bad shows? Any bad crowds?

I haven't had any really bad shows lately, I've just had weird shows. Like I
did a show in this place called Leipzig in Germany, and I don't know, it
looked like they had Nazi people in there. *laughs* I had to play Cypress Hill
and fuckin' "Jump Around".. But hey, I know how to change my ways and
techniques everywhere I go. That's the art of DJ'ing, you gotta know your
crowds and who's in front of you. I don't DJ for myself, I DJ for the people.
So whoever is there paying me, I gotta make sure whoever is in the club, they
have a good time. Whether it's fuckin' crazy Nazi's , or super commercial, or
hardcore, or down south. Like I'm about to go to San Francisco, and I know
they love that Bay shit, and I gotta play for them! I'm not gonna play no East
Coast, I know they wanna hear that E-40 and all the crazy shit. You gotta know
what crowd you got! I'm a peoples DJ.

Dubcnn: When can we expect your mixtape with 40 Glocc, Outspoken Vol. 3?

He told me his CD is done, so when I land on the 13th, I'ma go through his CD,
and we'll knock that shit out! I mean I'll do the shit in a day. From what I
heard it's done, he's got songs with 50 and all that. It's a done deal, he
told me meet me at the office asap. We'll definitely knock that shit out.

Dubcnn: The Lloyd Banks album sales were not what they could've been, hows
does G-Unit feel about this release?

The way G-Unit is, we work the records. We keep working, working, working for
us. They said Yayo was bla bla bla, but they just keep working, whether it's
mixtapes or marketing or press. We just gotta keep it going. Banks got another
video coming out, I think it's "Help", and all the ladies love him anyway! So,
the way the industry is, everything changes now. It's very confusing out
there. But they're still working him on the circuit, so...

Dubcnn: What's the next album on the G-Unit release plan?

Most likely it's Young Buck! And you know how he is, he's about to go nuts! So
Young Buck I think is next. And then I don't know anything else after that.
I've just been hearing 50 Cent in the studio, I've heard him do song with LL
Cool J for LL's project, and 50 is working on his own album now.

Dubcnn: Have you had a chance to hear "The Doctor's Advocate" yet?

  Yeah, I have.

Dubcnn: Are you surprised that he delivered such a strong product without
the support of 50 Cent and Dr. Dre?

Uhhm, I'm not really all crazy about it. I don't know.

Dubcnn: Come on, man! From a neutral standpoint...

Honestly, I heard it. And honestly, I'm not too crazy about it. The hooks
could have been better, it's kind of off beat on some of the hooks.

Dubcnn: It's old school! He put the scratching in there, I don't know, I
  thought it was crazy...

I've heard Game in other ways, like when I promoted him and stuff, but on this
album he got different voices for every song! Some songs I didn't even notice
that was him! It's like who is this guy? I don't know! We heard it though, but
we didn't think it was all crazy. But you can tell when the coaching is not
there. I don't remember what song it was, but the hook was mad off beat. I
don't know, maybe it's me! I don't have no real hate towards the dude, but
honestly, I hear shit, cause I sell music for living, and with all the shit
he's been talking, I was expecting some crazier shit.

Dubcnn: Having spent time in Europe, did you have a chance to take a look
  at the music scene?

Of course! I got tons of German artists, songs. During the Germany tour, I got
tons of stuff. I'm working with some people out here to try to get my next
mixtape evolution to Germany. I did one for the french with Cut Killer, so,
I'm just working it out over here so I can see what I can do with the German
Hip-Hop community out here. Then I'ma take my ass to Japan and work with the
Japanese artists. Learn to see what's hot, who's the illest...

Dubcnn: That's about it for the questions, I appreciate you taking the time
to talk to us, do you have any last words?

Any questions, go to shadyworld.biz and be on the lookout for Pow Magazine,
and my Pow TV which is coming soon. That's about it man, any CD I come out
with, check it out, support it, or you can download it for free, I don't care,
  it's all gravy!
