Part 1: Kurupt Interview

dubcnn.com: What's up Kurupt? How you been man?
Kurupt: I'm chillin'! Can't complain!
dubcnn.com: That's the business! To start it off, just let everybody know what
you got goin' right now, where you at, what you doin'!
Kurupt: We got this D.P.G.C. album that's finna drop, you know, me, Daz,
Snoop, Nate, RBX, the whole squad, D.P.G.C. album, G-Reunion, gangsta reunion.
That's what we've been working on. Plus the Young Gotti solo album that Daz
did, he produced for me, that one's finna drop in February. You know what I'm
sayin? We finna drop the Welcome 2 Tha Chuuch Album that Snoop did, with
all the homies on there. We got a gang of projects droppin', we got some
movies flyin', Snoop is writin' one now for me, Daz and him! It's alotta
things going!
dubcnn.com: Okay, ya'll just got together for the "Real Soon" track with
Snoop, Nate and Battlecat. Who came up with the idea of the song?
Kurupt: Well you know, Snoop & Nate put it together real fly! You know how
they do it!
dubcnn.com: Do you have any words for Tookie?
Kurupt: Well you know man, we're all in his corner man. He proved hisself to
be more effective alive than he is not being here, that's the most important
thing. People do what they want to, don't white people know they're wrong?
Because the man has done so much well, I mean he's helping these young folks,
and that's what it's really all about, so...
dubcnn.com: Ya'll just released the Dillinger & Young Gotti Pt. 2: Tha Saga
Continuez... and in the booklet, you're not credited for any of the writing.
What's up with that?
Kurupt: Credited for what writing?
dubcnn.com: For writing the songs!
Kurupt: Oh well that's a little business situation that was going on at the
time, you know, me and Scodie we team up to do our things. I wrote it, but you
know, I have a company with my brother called Scodie Mac Publishing, and
Scodie Mac Publishing is all the publishing that we do, that's our company!
dubcnn.com: Okay, cause people were wondering whether Roscoe was writing
Kurupts shit..?
Kurupt: *laughs* Nah, that was just a lil thing right there a lil scuffle I
was going through. You know Publishing is a major thing! What they did was,
there was a misprint. It was supposed to say Scodie Mac Publishing, and the
writer was supposed to be R. Brown. But you know... We already had it out
there, and we doin' this independent man, we just let it be, let it fly! Can't
trip off nothin' lil like that, cause you know I get mines regardless!
dubcnn.com: After you and Daz got back together, how was it to go back into
the studio?
Kurupt: Oh it was beautiful... You know me and the homie man, it's nothin'
like us man! We really brothers and what we do is natural man, it flies! He
brings the best out of me, you know what I'm sayin'? And you know Kurupt at
his best, it's a done deal! There's so many things coming, it's about to be
sick!
dubcnn.com: How is the song writing process when you and Daz are together? Do
you have a special formula, or?
Kurupt: Just go for it man! However we feel at the time, we finna fly. Play no
games, give them everything that we got, and keep flying!
dubcnn.com: How would you rate Dillinger & Young Gotti Pt. 2 compared to the
first one?
Kurupt: Oh this one's a different kind of Dillinger & Young Gotti. This one
right now, Tha Saga Continuez, is more of a laid back, relaxed, when you
rollin' in your car, posted it, smokin'! You know what I'm sayin? When you
early in that morning man, gettin' your day started man, it's that feel good
music man! That's what we wanted to give them, we wanted to give them some
feel good music.
Some shit we can have for ourselves, when we rollin' down the streets, on how
we feel. It's a laid back album, I rate it as a different type of album,
compared to the first one. The first one we was on monster mode! This one we
was kickin' back, from a grown standpoint, keepin' it G'd up. Makin' some
rollin' music, some smoke out music mayne! It ain't too much clubbin' and all
that in that record.
dubcnn.com: You had mentioned a Kurupt solo executive produced by Snoop and
Baby of Cash Money. What happened to that?
Kurupt: Well you know, I'm still doin' the thing! Snoopy's overseein' it. This
album is gonna be through my label and Doggystyle. Snoopy's overseein' that.
The Young Gotti album is gonna be overseen by me and Daz, that's comin' out in
February. So we still flyin', you know, we finna hit them across the head man,
we really got about 6 albums done man! Real fly!
dubcnn.com: Now that the DPG is back together, is the Riflemen project
shelved?
Kurupt: Oh never! Everybody's doin' their own lil things right now, gettin'
themselves based. Jayo's doin' his own thing, gettin' hisself based, 40
Glocc's doin' his thang...
dubcnn.com: Yeah I was just on tour out here with 40 & Mobb Deep, they're with
G-Unit now. And Spider Loc from G-Unit has been takin' shots at both you and
Daz recently... What's the situation there?
Kurupt: It ain't no situation, you know? Pretty much everything is cool. Can't
really trip mayne, everybody and them sayin' things man, but you can't really
trip. I know Spider man, if that's how he feels, well then what can I say
about it? *laughs*
dubcnn.com: But you still fuck with 40?
Kurupt: Yeah I still fuck with 40! You know, I still fuck with Spider cuzz!
*laughs* Yeah, why not?
dubcnn.com: Good to hear that the Riflemen project is still on though, cause I
heard the shit ya'll spit over that Alchemist beat, with Jayo, you, Roscoe and
40 Glocc. Roscoe was goin' crazy on that one!
Kurupt: Yeah, Scodie is so on fire!
dubcnn.com: I heard him and Bad Azz are doin' some shit...
Kurupt: Yeah, Bad Azz and Scodie got a whole album together! I'm trying to
tell you man! Everybody's movin' and rollin'! We finna drop they album too!
dubcnn.com: I heard a couple tracks from it, it's sounds crazy!
Kurupt: That's right!
dubcnn.com: So you're sayin' you're still cool with G-Unit, whatever they're
sayin', that's whatever they're sayin?
Kurupt: Yeah! I ain't trippin'... What I'ma trip about man? I'm 33 years old,
I'm grown man. They got they own opinion, and that's all up to them. I deal
with everything face to face man. Spider's cool with me cuzz, I ain't trippin'
off him, he ain't trippin' off me. What can I say mayne?
dubcnn.com: You still fuck with Eastwood?
Kurupt: Of course! That's my young killa!
dubcnn.com: What about a D.P.G./BlackWallStreet collaboration with Game?
Kurupt: I got a couple records with Game, I got a album I'm doin' with Tyrese,
me and Tyrese doin' an Alter Ego's album, Best Of Both Hoods...
dubcnn.com: Oh yeah I thought he was doin' that with Bishop Lamont, they had a
Best Of Both Hoods record!
Kurupt: Yeah yeah, they still got they thang growin' too, we all just puttin'
this together man, and makin' it fly! Me, Bishop and Tyrese, we puttin' thangs
together makin' it fly, Game is with us.
dubcnn.com: Now the question everybody wants to know ever since you got back
with the DPG is, what's up with Kurupt and Suge?
Kurupt: What's up with us?
dubcnn.com: Yeah everybody wanna know! We all know how Daz stands towards Suge,
but they wanna know if you and him still talk.
Kurupt: I ain't talked to Suge in a little bit. I seen him in the club the
other day. Suge is straight! Me and Suge we chillin' man, we not trippin' off
each other! Shit when I left, Suge knew I was leavin', he knew where I went,
he told me "Go nigga, go for it! Be safe, and stay right!"
dubcnn.com: So we ain't gone see Kurupt sayin' Fuck Death Row or none of that.
Kurupt: Oh nah man, for what?
dubcnn.com: You know how the rap game is man, everybody's talkin' shit about
everybody!
Kurupt: *laughs* Not Gotti man. When I used to do that typa shit, boy I was a
terror! But that's old man, this is reality. That shit is old.
dubcnn.com: Alright cool. Now you know, you've always been involved in so many
different projects, and there was talks about you doin' a project with Lil
Wayne too?
Kurupt: That's right! Paperboyz!
dubcnn.com: You had something with Layzie Bone too?
Kurupt: That's right! Me and Layzie Bone.
dubcnn.com: So... what's up with all that? We ever gonna see those?
Kurupt: Oh definitely, they gonna get put in effect. You know, everything that
we was plannin' on doin is still in effect. Everybody's doin' their own things
right now. This is what we call our self-time, where we droppin' our own
albums, doin' our own things. Then we come back together. And we gonna fly! I
seen Canibus the other day at the Billboard Awards! The Horsemen is still in
the house too! We gonna do all that shit man?
dubcnn.com: Something alotta people were wondering about... You been sayin'
shit like "Gotti Adolf Hitler" "Gotti Bin Laden", or "Holocaust Native".
That's a touchy subject... Where does that come from?
Kurupt: I felt like people was treatin' me like I was the worst! You know what
I mean? Like Kurupt is just on some bullshit, like I was trippin'! It was a
personal thing, I felt like everybody kept acting like I was the worst thing
crackin'! When I come around, it was like people would be on some different
type of shit, man! So you know, that was my alter ego basically! I'm like
"Okay cool, they wanna treat me like that!" When I went to Death Row, somebody
called me Bin Laden! Kurupt Bin Laden! I'm like "Damn, that's the way people
think about a nigga?" They turned me inot that shit! I was rebellious!
*laughs* That was monsters, nigga! That's what I felt like! I felt like I was
Hitler, nigga, I was the worst thing on the planet, man! Everybody trying to
treat me like I was the worst thing on the planet man! I'm Gotti Adolf Hilter
man, fuck this shit! I'ma go crazy! *laughs*
You know, that's what it was. That's what we do man, that's our creativeness
man, that's what Gotti is, that's what Kurupt is. When I create man, I make my
shit different. I'm not into just the clubbin' shit, and I'm not just into the
diamond shinin' shit, I'm into poetry man, poetics is what I call it man. It's
the artform of poetics man. Different form of rhyming, I talk about different
subject matters, I compare myself to different things man. And that's what rap
is! Creativity! That's what it is to me. They not gonna hear that diamond
shinin' bling bling shit with me, they gonna hear monster shit man, or some
cool shit, they gonna hear what I give'em!
dubcnn.com: You sound happy though, I remember the last time I interviewed you
a couple months ago before the reunion, you were...
Kurupt: Yeah nigga remember I was callin' myself Gotti Bin Laden? Adolf
Hitler? Nigga I was on fire! But being back with the homies man, it's some
different shit man. It's what it's supposed to be man, and it feels the
greatest! Being with your family, and being able to do what you love, you
know?
dubcnn.com: Do you think we're gonna see the D.P.G. on 106 & Park and shit
like that?
Kurupt: We gettin' all that started man, we got movies we doin', we got albums
we droppin', we're droppin' them all back to back, we're pushin' from this
point on. You know how I am when I'm with the homies, and we pushin' cuzz!
Remember, we gave ya'll 10 years of me and homies together, and you know we
don't play!
dubcnn.com: I was just watchin' a lil performance from '99 on BET with you and
Daz, Nate Dogg, Roscoe & Bad Azz performin' "Ride Wit Us, Girls All Pause" and
shit like that. Hopefully ya'll can bring that back!
Kurupt: That's right, that's right! We had a ball then too!
dubcnn.com: Let everybody know about that "Same Day, Different Shit" record.
What's up with that?
Kurupt: It's pure rhymes man! It's great records on there man, great records.
I feel like it's my best record ever. Daz produced the whole thing with Extra
Large, it's sick, it's SICK!
dubcnn.com: So what are you talkin' about on the record?
Kurupt: You know, I'm talkin' about real life shit man! I'm talkin' about real
life shit. And I'm givin' them rhymes nigga, all rhymes! No saucy bossy
bullshit man, just pure rhymes! Sickness man! Good records, some shitt they
can club with, I gave them some club shit on there. Yes sir, yes sir!
dubcnn.com: Wassup with Kurupt and Dr. Dre?
Kurupt: That's gonna happen, you know! I'm never gonna forget Dr. Dre, that's
my big homie man!
dubcnn.com: We gonna see D.P.G. on Detox?
Kurupt: We might! That's Dr. Dre's shot call, we gonna ride with him
regardless though!
dubcnn.com: Cause you were one of the main factors on The Chronic, and on
2001, so...
Kurupt: Well that's because Dr. Dre gave me that opportunity. He gonna make it
crack regardless, and with his guidance, you can never loose. On everything I
love!
dubcnn.com: Which producers will we see Kurupt working with in future? Except
for Daz...
Kurupt: We got some shit with Lil Jon, David Banner did some shit for the Dogg
Pound album with Snoop, it's a sick one too! Puffy gave us a classic, we got
some real shit man! The shit is bangin' too!
dubcnn.com: Do you have any advice for up and comin' artists? What impressed
you the most when listening to a new artist?
Kurupt: I look for style man, something different from what I already hear. I
look for rhymes man, I look for poetics, like Bishop Lamont and Glasses
Malone, and they are sick! New generation comin' like Roscoe! Roscoe is sick!
Young Tone, Slo, Tri! They sick, these people man!
dubcnn.com: So Y.A. is still happenin'?
Kurupt: Oh definitely, they droppin' on their own, and me and Daz is producin'
a record on them. Scodie is also doin' a record with Daz that we're droppin'.
We got projects boy, and they finna fly cuzz!
dubcnn.com: That's about it for the questions man, I'm do a lil word
association with ya'll, I'm give you a word and you gone tell me the first
thing that comes to your mind!
Kurupt: Fo sho!
dubcnn.com: The Chronic or 2001?
Kurupt: Both!
dubcnn.com: You can't pick one?
Kurupt: Can't do it! How you gonna sepparate Bitches ain't Shit and then
sepparate All These Niggaz and All These Hoes? I mean it's just too many
classics you gotta be bumpin.
dubcnn.com: Okay. Warren G.
Kurupt: Classic!
dubcnn.com: We gonna see you workin' with him in future?
Kurupt: Of course, I got a record with Warren G, he did the first record on my
solo album with Snoop!
dubcnn.com: You mean That's It?
Kurupt: Yeah, That's it!
dubcnn.com: That's been out for a while, it's a dope track.
Kurupt: Yeah I just threw that out there to let them know Kurupt was warmin'
up. I keep throwin' these pieces out there man, I'm warmin' up! Pretty soon we
gonna be on fire like the Fantastic Four nigga, flame off, pffffff! Game over
cuzz!
dubcnn.com: Chamillionaire.
Kurupt: I love him! Bangin'! And he fucks with my nigga Scotty! Yeah!
dubcnn.com: Yukmouth.
Kurupt: That's my nigga!
dubcnn.com: G-Unit.
Kurupt: Bangin'! Matter of fact, G-Unit, I think of Dogg Pound.
dubcnn.com: For real?
Kurupt: Yeah! Reminds me of me and the homies!
dubcnn.com: Ras Kass.
Kurupt: The homie! Horsemen!
dubcnn.com: Lil Wayne.
Kurupt: My nigga! Paperboyz!
.........................................................................................
Part 2: Daz Dillinger Interview
dubcnn.com:
Wassup with you?
Daz: Sup cuzz...
dubcnn.com: How you doin'?
Daz: Higher than a muthafucka.
dubcnn.com: As always huh?
Daz: Yep.. Up in early in the mornin'!
dubcnn.com: Alright, let's get started on this interview though. To start it
off, just let everybody know where you at right now, what's going on?
Daz: Yeah, yeah, ya'll know what the fuck it is! This is D-A to the Z, DUBCNN,
all the homies on the forum, what the fuck is up? Holla at your peoples,
DUBCNN, I'm in New York right now, me and Kurupt doin' it real big. Promotin'
Bigg Snoop Dogg's Welcome 2 Tha Chuuuch - Tha Album, aswell as Dillinger &
Young Gotti Pt. 2!
dubcnn.com: Ya'll just did the video for real soon, tell us a little bit about
that track, and a few words on Tookie!
Daz: Oh you know, we put the video together goin' the jailhouse, visitin' the
homies, and it's dedicated to Tookie. He's showed that people can change, but
it's all up to how the government is doin'. Around that time it was like the
Black Panthers and shit like that, so they was really crackin' down on that,
and the Crips they felt were somethin' like the Black Panthers, you know what
I mean? Like how most of us get beat in the hood, the community, the police
was whoopin' on muthafuckas back then! So everybody was trying to get their
shit together, so he was makin' that movement! While they was takin' everybody
to jail, he was part of that movement like that Black Panthers, so they took
him to jail too and gave him that sentence!
So it's like, you can change, but it's all up to Arnold Schwarzenegger now.
But he had a heart attack or some shit like that, so, on the 13th they gone
execute him! How would you feel, knowing that in 5 days, they finna lay down.
You know what I mean? So I was just thinkin' like "damn you gotta be blessed,
and think about what you doin'." I went through alot of hot head shit, now I'm
into myself. None of that shit don't get me mad and shit. A muthafucka calls
me, I'm cool. I just keep doin' my thang.
dubcnn.com: You know there was alotta confusion about whether the Welcome 2
Tha Chuuch record was the D.P.G.C. Reunion or not, can you clear that up for
everybody?
Daz: Nah that's not the D.P.G.C. reunion. That's just Bigg Snoop Dogg puttin'
out artists. It's a two album deal. And it's settin' us to do this album and
to come with our major album. And then I come back with Jermaine Dupri, So So
Gangsta The Album you know what I mean? It's over! We finna shoot a video for
"All I Need" with me, Snoop Dogg [and Kurupt]. You can probably come out to
that muthafucka when we do that one!
dubcnn.com: Ya'll doin' a video for the remix with just you and Snoop or with
Kurupt too?
Daz: Yeah the tripple OG mix! You know I had to give it to them sick. Cause
I'm gonna switch the game up. They wanted to have me do another single or
something like that, so I was like I'm gonna put my cousin on that muthafucka.
I put it out. Bam! It sparked up some noise and Virgin called me. So I was
like you know what? I'ma spice it up again! Cause Kurupt was outta down when I
was layin' it down. So he came through to lace it again, now the muthafucka
worth more! And that muthafucka subs too! Produced by Jermaine Dupri!
dubcnn.com: So Daz is an official So So Def artist?
Daz: Yep!
dubcnn.com: I know you've always been sayin "it's gonna drop", but when can we
really expect So So Gangsta though?
Daz: 2006. 2006. I want all the fans right now, to call up to Virgin Records
in New York, email the fuck out of them, and ask them when that album is gonna
come out. Then they gone call me, and I'ma make it happen! Cause I got so much
shit going on, I have to make sure home is right first. So let me drop Kurupts
album, and get my nigga right! So right now, when I sign to the majors,
Kurupts gonna take off where I left off!
dubcnn.com: So the Kurupt Same Day, Different Shit, that's independent through
DPG Recordz?
Daz: Yeah.
dubcnn.com: With your Sony Red distribution?
Daz: Nah, I'm goin' through Toommy Boy now. They got a distribution, same
thang, just like that. And when I get signed to a major, we gone put Kurupt
out. Cause all the companies, Kevin Lyles, all they want to see is numbers.
You say you sold 250,000, but can you PROVE you sold 250,000?
dubcnn.com: Is the D.P.G.C. Reunion gonna be through Koch too?
Daz: Yeah! This is my first time fuckin' with Koch, I'ma get some money out
them muthafuckas! You know what I mean? Cause I ain't signed to them, but I'ma
do business with them.
dubcnn.com: So the "All I Need" Remix is the first single off So So Gangsta?
Daz: Yeah.
dubcnn.com: Is that album done, or are you still workin' on it?
Daz: It's damn near done! I'm doin' some more songs with a producer called No
ID. I got my songs on there, Jermaine got his songs on there, I'm in the game!
dubcnn.com: You mentioned that you had a diss track towards G-Unit called
"Banned", what's up with that?
Daz: I don't know about none of that... Somebody put that on there!
dubcnn.com: That was through your account though?
Daz: I know, somebody put that on there though. Probably my litte cousin or
somethin'! G.B., from Porno Style, you know?
dubcnn.com: So there is no diss track towards G-Unit?
Daz: Nah, I didn't record one. They probably did that because they be on the
internet and shit like this, and they called me sayin' that Young Buck got a
song dissin' me or somethin' like that.
dubcnn.com: But why do they use your name though, cause that was your account
on the forums!
Daz: They can't login, I use they computer! Their house is my office. You know
when you go to the computer you just put dubcnn in there, and you hit the
forum and you already logged in!
dubcnn.com: From what they posted, people were thinkin' that there was a new
Daz song called "Banned" comin' Why would they do that though?
Daz: Hey, that's on them. If that's how they feel... They my lil homies, and
they only lookin' out for me. If they say that the nigga dissed me.. But I
love Young Buck that's my nigga! They said that Young Buck said in a song "Daz
behind me", I had some glasses on, he said they wasn't loc's, he said that
shit ain't grimey. Or some shit like that. And then I heard that other lil
song with Spider...
dubcnn.com: He wasn't dissin' you on it though, he's on the hook.
Daz: But damn, you on the same song! You know what I mean? He's in Nashville,
I'm in Memphis! We in the same state! I drive up to Nashville to go fuck with
Young Buck all the time! Young Buck gave me ounces of weed! My nigga I ain't
never dissed you! I'm tryin' to get outta that shit. I've been feudin' for 10
years! Snoops tryin' to keep me calm, he's like "you doin' good right now cuzz!"
So I don't let that shit get to me. It's the same thang as the Lil Eazy
situation. Ima leave that shit alone! I'ma do me!
dubcnn.com: I ain't never heard Daz say somethin' like that!
Daz: You know what I mean? Because it's like, times is hard! I just don't
wanna kill nobody. I'm so quick to jump really on a muthafucka ass, it's
ridiculous! So it's like.. I'ma Gemini, so let me try this other side for a
second. But it's no problem to get gritty, and really make it happen! Cause I
got them goons, and they stay around me, cause I'm that nigga! And I treat
everybody like I would wanna be treated. I'ma leave that shit alone man!
dubcnn.com: So Daz is makin' peace?
Daz: I ain't never had no makin' peace with nobody, I ain't never did shit,
they start dissin' me! I don't even know who the fuck Spider Loc is! I ain't
never met him, all I know is Suge Knight used to have him! Suge Knight told
him to do the shit he was sayin'. He's still a bitch, doin' what a muthafucka
told him to do! So I've never met the dude.
dubcnn.com: Have you spoken to 40 Glocc again?
Daz: Nah I ain't spoke to nobody, Snoop said he holla'd at him so that's all I
needed to hear.
dubcnn.com: Basically you sayin' the same thang as Kurupt. It's no beef
between D.P.G. and G-Unit.
Daz: Nah. But if I hear a song dissin' me, you know... Spider just talkin'
cause he wanna be like 50. That's how he thinks he's gonna get in the game. I
ain't got time to be thinkin' about Spider Loc, I got other shit to be doin',
muthafuckas I'ma really feud with. Street shit! Where muthafuckas is really
gettin' they head took off! This is some bullshit over here! I'm already
feudin' with some real muthafuckas you know what I mean? So this other shit is
some stupid shit man.
dubcnn.com: Do you think we gonna see the D.P.G. on Detox?
Daz: You know, that's Dr. Dre. That's on him man. I ain't really trippin'. I'm
doin' Daz.
dubcnn.com: So we got the Welcome 2 The Chuuch, we got the D.P.G.C. Reunion,
we got the So So Gangsta, we got the Same Day Different Shit, what else we
got?
Daz: Dillinger & Young Gotti Pt. 3 with videos, you know we shot videos for
all songs on the album.
dubcnn.com: Like the lil web video for the D.P.G.C Muzik?
Daz: Yeah with my homie Dada outta Bakery, we got some underground videos,
smokin' while we drivin', Kurupt got that "Shake That Ass" video on there with
the pussy and booty on that shit...
dubcnn.com: So what can we expect from the D.P.G.C. reunion? What kinda music
is that gonna be? Is that gonna be back to the G-Funk is that gonna be some
other shit?
Daz: You know, we ain't on that G-Funk shit. I ain't on that G-Funk. That had
its time and era.
dubcnn.com: So it's gone be you, Snoop, Nate, Kurupt...
Daz: We got Paull Wall on there, we got David Banner on there. We on all the
songs, me and Kurupt. And we holla'd at some homies. I like Paul Wall, I'm in
they state, I can vibe with them, I do the same shit they do.
dubcnn.com: Is RBX gonna be on there?
Daz: Yeah RBX gonna be on there, we got Rage, Bad Azz, Tray Deee, all kinds of
muthafuckas on there man!
dubcnn.com: You fuck with Goldie Loc again?
Daz: Oh yeah I fucks with Goldie Loc, that's my nigga! I see he's doin' some
independent shit! Whoevers doin' independent shit is doin' what the big homie
do! They saw what I did!
dubcnn.com: I heard you on the new Young Bloodz record..
Daz: Oh yeah? Send that to me! Just hangin' with them I drank so much
muthafuckin' patrone, I was feelin' it!
dubcnn.com: I'ma email it to you. Who else you gonna be producin' for in
future?
Daz: Shit I'm just beginnin' now! Now I'm in New York! I'm trying to get a
track with Marley Marl! What you think about that?
dubcnn.com: That's classic!
Daz: Dogg Pound on a Marley Marl track? That would be hard! We'll hook up that
shit.
dubcnn.com: Everybody wants to know everybody I interview you, what advice you
can give up and comin' producers, up and comin' rappers..
Daz: Keep goin' hard.
dubcnn.com: That's it?
Daz: Yup, just keep goin' hard, don't stop! Make 50 beats a mornin'! That's
what I do, that's my thang! 50 beats a mornin' man. I'ma make 10 beats a piece
out of every sound, like 10 beats outta this sound, okay erase that, and do a
new one.
dubcnn.com: Okay, that's nearly it man, as a last question, how many
unreleased Dogg Pound tracks does Suge have in his Death Row vault?
Daz: None.
dubcnn.com: None?
Daz: Nooone.
dubcnn.com: So there is no unreleased D.P.G.C. music that Suge owns?
Daz: Hey you know why? I'm the producer. I'm the rapper. I was gettin' paid at
the beginnin' of this shit, so everytime I do somethin', I'ma need to get
paid! It's like, if he woulda had some songs now, you would think he would
give them out to muthafuckas right now! He puttin' bullshit back out again!
Same songs! But you ain't never heard another Daz song over there, right?
dubcnn.com: We had the Dogg Pound 2002 with the Every Single Day and shit...
Daz: That was just some shit, they took a whole bunch of songs that I had
heard before...
dubcnn.com: So Suge ain't got no more songs?
Daz: What you think?
dubcnn.com: I don't know man, he probably got some shit!
Daz: Just what I left him! And I took everythang! *laughs* Ha ha!
dubcnn.com: Alright man, to end the interview I'ma do a lil word association..
Daz: Aight!
dubcnn.com: Warren G
Daz: My homie for life!
dubcnn.com: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Daz: Asshole! *laughs*
dubcnn.com: Chamillionaire
Daz: My nigga, I seen him in the club, hustla, grinda!
dubcnn.com: Yukmouth
Daz: Who's Yukmouth? *laughs*
dubcnn.com: The Chronic or 2001?
Daz: I like both of them...
dubcnn.com: You can't pick one?
Daz: I like the first one cause I'm on that muthafucka *laughs*
dubcnn.com: I knew you would say that..Alright man thanks for takin' the time
to answer all the questions!
Daz: Fo sho, holla back.
