Dubcnn: What’s up Epademik last we spoke with you, you joined us on the “All New DUBCNN Radio Show” [Listen To the Inteview in Episode 20] to play some of your music, what have you been working on lately?

I’ve been working on my next album titled “Beast Within” & getting various situations finalized. Keeping busy.

Dubcnn: Our DUBCNN readers should already be familiar with some of the artists you’ve been affiliated with (i.e. Ca$his, Clinton Wayne, etc.) who are some of the artists that you’ve been working with recently?

For my album “Beast Within” I called in a handful of artists that I regularly work with to assist in hooks & other aspects. As far as collaborations outside of that… I was in the studio with Red Angel (Black Wall Street) a few days ago working on something. Besides that I have really been focusing on myself.

Dubcnn: Being that you are a talented producer, as well as a talented emcee which would you say is your favorite job to do?

First & foremost I’m an emcee. To me lyrical content with various patterns is the illest thing ever. Of course I enjoy producing & when I say producing I’m not referring to only beat making. I’m referring to the entire composing of a record. Arrangement, mixing etc.

The possibilities are endless when you have everything completely tracked out the right way. It truly allows a song to flourish in ways not capable if you only have a solid stereo wav file. People need to stop recording over mp3’s, especially if it’s on their album. That shit is horrible. Get it together people. Don’t be afraid of Pro Tools dammit!

Dubcnn: Since were on the topic of artists wearing many hats these days, I hear you can add CEO, label owner to your resume what’s going on with the label, how did you get it started?

Yeah no doubt, I felt it was the right time to make that move. After the last few years with Hoopla & LRT I learned a whole lot & made some solid connections so now I introduce “Bad Seed” to the world. With digital distribution thru InGrooves & physical CD distribution to major stores it makes sense in every aspect. I’m really excited about it.

Dubcnn: Since you now have a label, who are some of the artists you’re looking to release projects with? What type of artists interests you as a CEO?

The first project getting released is 1918. That album did so damn well over a year ago online that I felt that it will only grow once it hits the stores. As far as artists go, Bad Seed has a solid roster already lined up. We got Akoma, this dudes style & lyrical skill is so insane. Anybody who has been to any of my shows knows this cat as my hypeman & at the end of every show I have him spit some accapellas that always leaves the crowd in an uproar.

We also have Siccness on the squad. His track record for the last year has been impeccable & not to mention he’s a solid individual who’s grind & hustle is out of this world. Lastly we have Kadillak Kaz. Kaddy is one of the most well rounded artists that’s out here its ridiculous, not to mention his name stays buzzin in the streets.
Lets not forget my important behind the scenes people that help make all this good shit go round, T-Dubb, Antonia Bernal & Ilion.

The type of artist(s) that interest me is one who is undeniable on multiple levels. The music has to sound great. The look has to make sense. Everything has to mesh together.

Dubcnn: Will you also be producing most of your acts are will you be opening the floor for outside producers?

I always have production on deck but we do have producers that are tightly knit with Bad Seed such as Serf Show & Miklo Sanchez & of course T-Dubb. We’re always looking for some production that fits our styles.

Dubcnn: Where can upcoming artists reach you or send you their music?

You can send mp3’s via email.

Dubcnn: Any last words before we close out?

Bad Seed… It’s not a label it’s a cult! Fix ya face you clowny bastards! 2012 is gonna be real interesting.
