got gunned down, and how he plans to put Vegas on the map. He introduces his
artists to us and gives us an update on his upcoming solo album, "H Ryda vs
The Planet".
Read on and enjoy. As always feel free to hit upnima@dubcnn.comwith

Dubcnn: We're right here with H Ryda to talk about the new single "Money
Machine", featuring E-40. Tell us about that record.
H Ryda: Money Machine man, it's a motivating song for niggas trying
to figure out what to do with their money, counting it, getting it. Go get
you a money machine! *laughs*
Dubcnn: How did you link up with 40 Water?
H Ryda: 40's a OG and somebody that I respect in this business. We had the
hookup and he is one of the people that's true to his word. He's one of the
people that 'Pac used to fuck with. And as the years passed by, I watched
and saw this nigga be very loyal Pac. He never dealt with any of Pac's
enemies, no Puffy's, none of them shits. No amount of money changed that.
He's the only artist in the game where I feel like I can get him on the
track because I want to. Don't get me wrong, it's a couple of niggas in the
game that I respect, but 40 is a OG who's been there and done that, that's
one of the niggas I look up to.
Dubcnn: You mentioned Pac. For those who don't know the history,
give us a quick rundown on you coming up with 2Pac and the Outlawz.
H Ryda: My background is Thug Life, Outlawz, that's my family tree. I was
around Pac at a young age through my homeboys and Pac asked me to rap, I was
scared as youngster. I was a kid, nervous at the time and I felt that I
wasn't ready. So I never busted and it's no excuse but I didn't do it. Long
story short, it was in my heart to do it. When Pac died, the Outlawz
snatched me up and I did some work with them. We're family, and you know how
family's are, I wanted to prove something to my big brothers so I started
doing my own thing. The rest is history. Niggas know what it is, I've been
out here on the West Coast, born and raised. All the Outlawz is from the
East Coast, shout out to Jersey. I fuck with a lot of East Coast niggas. But
yeah that's my background, Outlawz, 2Pac, Thug Life, the only click that I
ever represented. And I don't jump click to click.
Dubcnn: How long have you been in Vegas?
H Ryda: I moved to Vegas right after Pac died. I was a youngster and even
the Outlawz used to tell me "Why are you going to Vegas, you're crazy. Fuck
that, you shouldn't go out there." Because after what happened, they didn't
like Vegas. But I saw something different and my vision was very prosperous.
Vegas is the great big pussy that ain't been fucked yet. Las Vegas. No
rapper ever came out from there, it's a major city and my nigga Makaveli the
Don was slain out there.
Dubcnn: So you're trying to put Las Vegas on the map as far as rap
is concerned?
H Ryda: God willing.
Dubcnn: So you've got the single dropped March 13th. What can we
expect from you after that single?
H Ryda: My album is going to be called "H Ryda Vs. The Planet". I ben
sitting back in my car like "Man, I got so much music!" I'm the position now
where niggas is gonna be tripping when I drop it. Like I said, I had it in
me and the brother asked me to rap, I just didn't give it to him. So now,
every time I got in that booth, I hear that voice in my head "Yo H, get in
the booth." I got something for ya'll to hear.
Dubcnn: Who can we expect you to work with on the album?
H Ryda: I got my artist V12 on there, my artist Scotty Deuce. Scotty Deuce
is 16 years old, ya'll look out for him, he's very talented. V12 I got money
on him as far as battle rapping and that type of shit. Me, I'm the dinner
bringing the desert. If you don't like the dinner, you gotta like the desert
and vice versa. Or we put you out the restaurant.
Other than that, I got Messy Marv on there, my nigga E-40. Me and The Jacka
got some shit that I might fuck around and put on there. But me and Jacka
are talking about an album together. We're both muslim, so we've got a
different brotherhood going on. Shoutout to the Jacka. Husalah, the whole
Mob Figaz, Fed-Ex, Rydah what up.
Dubcnn: Is there anything else you want people to know about what
you've got going on?
H Ryda: Yeah I want to say to the industry and the people that's listening
to the music, I think we need to get back. This is the only genre of music
where we get to speak very bluntly and real. We can't let them try to take
rap too, we've got to stick to the script. Niggas died for this shit, it's
too late to switch it up now. This is our art, we're not doing the leopard
pants shit, we're not doing the fucking earring in the eyebrow, all that
extra shit. Stick to the script, we're from the ghetto, from the hood. Let's
not wait to get money and then cater to the white folks, that's all I'm
saying. Let's get money and do what niggas do. We play basketball, we do
nigga shit. We don't do all this extra polo shit. I'm not saying there's
anything wrong with doing something new, but just take the boy out the hood,
don't take the hood out the boy. Stay true to the shit.
