Dubcnn: We are right here with the Oakland O.G. Keak Da Sneak! Let us start this off talking about the new Mobb Boss album you got coming out. What can we be expecting with this one?

You can expect another slappin album from me. Mobb Boss is very relevant and the delivery is very smooth on this one. The beats are great creations of Big Hollis. [He] did all the production, engineering and mixing on it.

Dubcnn: You have worked with Big Hollis before right??

Yes, I have worked with [Big] Hollis before. He makes good music and we work well together. His beats are very versatile…

Dubcnn: What are some of the highlights on this project?

I enjoy every song on the project; my highlight is being able to still bring my fans a slappin album after all these years of making music.

Dubcnn: From start to finish, how long did this album take to complete?

From start to finish, this album took no more than two weeks to complete… Trust me, Mobb Boss slaps from front to back…

Dubcnn: What is the first single coming out from Mobb Boss, and what is the idea behind it?

“Rims on Everything” is most likely going to be the first single that we drop through Yurps [World Entertainment]. This is going to be a great song for the summer. Be on the lookout for a video for this song too.

Dubcnn: I noticed on the Mobb Boss tracklisting that San Quinn, Shady Nate, Lace Leno & EKlips Da Hustla are on the album. In this day and age of having a ridiculous amount of features on a solo project, you kept it to a low count. Was that conscious decision on your part for this particular project?

Yes… This is an album reflecting on my relevance in the industry today. I like featuring on albums and of course, I like having features, but on this 2010 Mobb Boss project, I wanted to give my fans more Keak.

Dubcnn: I also noticed that we don’t see your 3XKrazy counterparts featured either. What’s the status of those relationships, do you guys still talk and are there any talks of 3XKrazy project?

Agerman and I speak frequently and I have spoken to B.A. as well. There are talks to do a 3XKrazy reunion, so everyone needs to just keep their ears open because it looks like it just may happen.

Dubcnn: We all hope that happens…

It looks like it will (laughs).

Dubcnn: What does the title of the new album Mobb Boss mean to you?

I’m from the town…When I was growing up, everything was on a MOB level. Now I’m pushing my life and career on my own accord, directing things as I see fit, the way a Mobb Boss would do. To this day, I still always fuck with the hood.

Dubcnn: Being from East Oakland, you have a very distinctive voice and style, but what other things differentiate you from your peers?

My voice and style is what separates me. Let us not forget that my creativity with words and my phrases separates me as well. I say things that spread out to the masses. I’m also influenced by all the talented and classic artists from the past, but it’s all original… it’s all Keak.

Dubcnn: The hyphy movement was touted highly by bay ambassadors Too $hort & E-40, yet it was relatively short-lived. What does “Mr. Supa Dupa Hyphy” think of the music scene in Oakland, San Francisco, and the rest of the Bay area these days?

We have many talented artists in the Bay. Our music from the Bay, is just not getting out there right for the masses to hear. I think my people should put more into the promotion of their projects, so that people out of our region can hear it and want to purchase it as well. We do have locals that are pushing there music out of our region, but there is a lot more music from the Bay that needs to be heard nationwide.

Dubcnn: In addition, speaking of guys like Too $hort & E-40, when can we expect to see some more collaborations between you and those guys, Ant Banks or with some of the other bay area homies?

I stay working in this rap game. I have already collaborated with some of the rappers that you just mentioned. When you hear their 2010 projects, you will know that I am still here and I am still relevant. It don’t stop… this is what I do.

Dubcnn: You have a vast catalog of music chock full of solo, group and guest spot material. Who is somebody you would like to collaborate with that you haven’t yet?

You know what… I don’t have a particular person I want to collaborate with at the moment. I do want to spread my collaborations further across the board. I’d like [to] do more collaborations with rappers from the east coast, down south and in the Midwest - - and overseas…

Dubcnn: What new artists are you feeling on the west coast, which you could officially co-sign as “dope?”

I really haven’t heard any new west coast artist that is just killing the game right now. To be honest though, I have really been just paying attention to my own music lately, so that I can better it and keep it relevant with the times. This music game is moving fast these days…

Dubcnn: Thanks for your time Keak. Any closing thoughts for Dubcnn – the #1 West Coast News Network?

In closing, go get that Mobb [Boss] album, in stores on May 18th, 2010. It is going to be a classic, trust me.
