Dubcnn: What's up y'all it's Jose with Dubcnn. I'm here with 1/2 of La Coka Nostra. What's up guys, how are you guys doing? You guys are here at rock the bells, how does it feel?

Danny Boy: It;s good, we just got here right now, just like you. We did the Boston one, we did the New York one, they went off perfect, everything was everything, came out with Just-ice, came and opened, and we're gonna do the same today.

Ill Bill: This LA, most of the group is from here, so we came out here to represent, for me and Slaine it's always a treat. We love LA and we always got the LA love.

Dubcnn: You guys recently dropped your album, how has that been?

Ill Bill: It's well received, right now the feedback's been incredible. We wouldn't have put it out if we didn't lvoe it ourselves, but just to get that feedback in return is a blessing, people love it. We're psyched at being able to come out and tour finally, 'cause you can't really tour without a record out.

Danny Boy: Whatever he said.

Dubcnn: Are you guys looking to do your own tour after Rock the Bells?

Ill Bill: We're actually heading to Europe right after this, we're taking a week off then going to Europe. We're gonna do a US tour after that too.

Dubcnn: You guys are four big guys on your own, a supergroup almost, what do you think about the whole resurgence of that especially with Slaughterhouse, trying to get four big time MCs and bringing 'em together as a group.

Ill Bill: We all have different takes on it, for me, this is like a symphony. You remember the Symphony, Marley Marl, the way those MCs came together. It started out as a symphony and then the whole album became that. It's us bringing in people that are a part of our circle and we just made that record. I don't really relate to anything else that's going on with it 'cause it's our own land. We just did it from a friendship standpoint. It's just the homies doing a record. It wasn't like we put thought into doing a supergroup.

Danny Boy: When people talk about a supergroup that's great but what he's talking about and what I'm talking about, we felt something was missing from music. All together we came together and made what we felt what we could do to add to the scene. What was left out was that early 90s boom bap that hard rock shit. We was like, "Look let's start making tracks ourselves." And it grew into something bigger. See now a lot of cats are putting shit together just becuase there's strength in numbers. I ain't mad at that but this shit is organic and that's how it really popped off.

Dubcnn: How do you guys manage to balance everything? You guys have solo careers, some of you guys do other stuff outside of music...

Ill Bill: I would say it's difficult, but really it's not. It's just our life, that's what we do. I like to stay busy and be entertained at the same time. I always get bored if I have to do the same thing day in day out. To do La Coka Nostra, then work on some beats, then work on some solo rhymes and shit like that keeps the creativity flowing, it keeps it interesting.

Danny Boy: Same shit. Everybody got their own sword, we sharped the shit out of it. If we only waited for La Coka Nostra to move it wouldn't move as fast as we coudl all move on our own, we all keep doing stuff. The more ambition the better. Everybody's ambitious in this crew and everybody eats regardless of La Coka Nostra being viable or not and we make it work because we work hard at doing it. Can you hear me? It's that bass baby. Tech N9ne backstage, it's going down, so you really getting a live feed right now, that's what's up.

Dubcnn: Speak on your fans. You guys have a very strong fanbase. You guys are part of that movement with Cypress Hill and Muggs and Audio Hustlaz and all those dudes, you have a very loyal following. How do you feel about that?

Danny Boy: Let me tell you something. Those kids have always been down with us, they know what the real is. They been down from the Soul Assassins shit to the Non Phixion shit, to the House of Pain shit to the Cypress Hill shit and they never left. The only thing was we left for a minute and went our separate ways, but we back and it feels great. We got a built in audience, when we do our thing our fans are there for us and we there for there, it's one big movement, La Coka Nostra.

Ill Bill: Just to have people peepin' what we doing, for us that's the battery. We wouldn't do it if nobody's checkin' for it. Without the listeners what's there to listen to?

Danny Boy: With bass like that it's got to be Tech N9ne. Is that Tech N9ne?

Ill Bill: I think so.

Dubcnn: I heard you were working on something with Muggs, how's that going?

Ill Bill: It's coming out crazy, I don't really wanna say too much. We just working on music.

Dubcnn: What else do you have going on apart from La Coka Nostra?

Danny Boy: I'm a full time graphic artist so I design dissizit, check it out dissizit check for it. Shout out to my man Slick and Tatina. I got a couple different things, my iron's in the fire, I'm doing a couple clothing lines. That's it really, I just keep all the graphic art and all the art poppin'.

Dubcnn: You guys have any last words before we sign off?

Danny Boy: It's La Coka Nostra fuck what you heard.

Ill Bill: LCN baby, a brand you can trust.

Danny Boy: If you talkin' about you cash you gon' be alright.
